Do you sign him right away? If so, how much are you going to offer him?

How much is he worth?

What do you think he would get on the free agent market?

Or do you franchise tag him and wait?

What is NFL franchise tag?

Each team is allowed to designate one of their players who is going to become a unrestricted free agent with the 'franchise tag'. An unrestricted free agent is a player whose contract has expired and is free to negotiate with any team without his present team having the opportunity to match the contract negotiated between the player and the other team. There are two types of franchise tag ... exclusive and non-exclusive:
Exclusive: The player must be offered a one year contract 1) at a salary of the average of the top five salaried players at his position, or 2) at a salary at least 120% of his previous year's salary, whichever of the two is the higher amount. The player may not negotiate with any other teams even though he is a free agent.
Non-exclusive. Same as the Exclusive player except the player is allowed to neogtiate with other teams. Should the player agree in principle to a contract with another team, his present team is allowed to match the contract and keep his services. If his present team does not match the contract, the player becomes a member of the other team and the other team must 'pay' two first round draft choices as compensation to the player's now former team.
The exclusive tag is a way for the owners to get around free agency. The exclusive tag does not allow the player to negotiate with other teams and the non-exclusive tag states the team will be compensated if the player signs with another team.

Where it is real F ing COLD
Never was a big fan, always thougt it was the defense but maybe it was the offensive coordinator.

I like how he throws the ball. I sign him right away, no screwing around, I offer him 20 % less than highest paid

That's fair, IMO, but he would get more than that on the market.

six-year, $80 million contract

That's an insult.

His numbers are equal or better than the top 5 QBs for their first 5 years and some of his numbers are NFL records. He wins the SB he'll already have as many playoff wins as Manning and most were on the road. He has more wins in the last 5 years than any QB in the league. He has more away playoff wins than any QB in the history of the NFL and he's only played 5 years. One of these days you're going to have to believe it.

Rivers in 2009 signed a seven-year deal worth $97.25 million, with $38.5 million in guarantees. Schaub this year signed a five-year contract worth $66.1 million, with $29.15 million in guaranteed money, and Flacco can use that as a ground floor. Flacco is younger than Schaub. He's more reliable than Schaub, has a better winning percentage and is a slam-dunk choice in the playoffs where he's 8-4, including 6-4 on the road. And Flacco has never missed a start. You're just a hater for some reason.

Where? You are reading me wrong and I suppose I am reading you wrong as well. The typed word and the spoken work can come off differently with different meanings.

I love you, bro. :toast:

I was trying to explain to you that your offer sucks

It is rumored that 6 year $100 million has been on the table since last off season.

How much do these greedy agents get anyway?

Wow thats more then I would have thought.
Anyway as a skins fan living in catonsville, You are going to try and resign him either way, I say offer it before the SB his value will only go up if he gets a ring. But if that rumor is true, wow his camp is playing hard ball. I think the ravens eat it and give him a huge deal after the SB win or lose.

since NFL contracts are year to year and because their union is weak and can't get guarenteed contracts[unlike MLB and NBA] he should demand this be front loaded and include a huge signing bonus.

my guess he wants Peyton.and Brady money per year..they are 18 mill per if memory serves me.Tom's was heavy front loaded so his listed salary only 10 mill this season and Peytons was a highly publized 18 mill.

if he is turning down 16 mill 600 thousand per season ..:scared

maybe he wants out.....don't know why.......he will finally be the man in Balt..no player there will play in Ray's shadow anymore so the reigns as leader are for the taking..

interested to see what happens....hard to phathom Baltimore franchise agreeing to a 20 mill a season for any player..

maybe the 6 year $100 million is a take it or franchise tag coming your way

it will be brought up for 2 straight weeks leading up to the game..lets see how both sides handle it..
