That's an insult.

His numbers are equal or better than the top 5 QBs for their first 5 years and some of his numbers are NFL records. He wins the SB he'll already have as many playoff wins as Manning and most were on the road. He has more wins in the last 5 years than any QB in the league. He has more away playoff wins than any QB in the history of the NFL and he's only played 5 years. One of these days you're going to have to believe it.

Rivers in 2009 signed a seven-year deal worth $97.25 million, with $38.5 million in guarantees. Schaub this year signed a five-year contract worth $66.1 million, with $29.15 million in guaranteed money, and Flacco can use that as a ground floor. Flacco is younger than Schaub. He's more reliable than Schaub, has a better winning percentage and is a slam-dunk choice in the playoffs where he's 8-4, including 6-4 on the road. And Flacco has never missed a start. You're just a hater for some reason.

Just because one team makes a mistake, doesn't mean you have to out-pay that mistake. Rivers shouldn't be considered in determining 'market' value. That contract was the mistake of a GM that is currently unemployed.

It is rumored that 6 year $100 million has been on the table since last off season.

How much do these greedy agents get anyway?

Agents get up to 3% of the contracts, which is good, but where they make a killing is on endorsements where they can sometimes take up to 33%

is there something pertaining to the future contract of Flacco in this article that I missed.

Just keeping you updated. :0008

I meant to post this here:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...in-super-bowl/

A new deal might not come quickly and the Ravens might be forced to use their franchise tag to facilitate further conversations, but quarterback Joe Flacco is staying in Baltimore beyond this season.

It?s been a common refrain that Flacco is making himself money with every playoff win cementing his status as an inconsistent regular season quarterback whose team wins with him at the helm in the postseason. General Manager Ozzie Newsome is not a proponent of that theory. Newsome says that the result of the Super Bowl and the playoffs in general won?t impact their position on Flacco?s contract.

?As I said before, Joe and I are at the same comfort level about his contract. At the end of the day, some people will look at what he does on Sunday afternoon, but I have an entire body of work to look at,? Newsome said, via the Baltimore Sun. ?Joe sits right behind me on the plane rides home. I also know how he practices, how he works out during the offseason. I look to see how he interacts with players, how he reacts to losing, what type of leader he is. Again, it?s the entire body of work over five years.?

The entire body of work is obviously essential to any contract negotiation, but, as George Costanza pointed out long ago, there?s something to be said for ending on a high note. Making the Super Bowl gives Flacco?s resume a polish it didn?t have before and winning it would provide even more at exactly the right time.

Whatever Newsome says, a Super Bowl win will likely raise Flacco?s price a bit. It?s hard to imagine the Ravens would be too upset under those circumstances.
