Why when I play a video from you tube does it hang up and load very slowly. I have to hit the pause button and come back to it later and then play after it has downloaded. Is this common, or is there something with my box that is hindering it?

It's odd. As Morris said, it slows down on some, but others it flies right through them. I'm guessing they are pretty much all on the same server with You Tube, so that shouldn't be a factor. Most of the stuff I am looking at are guitar instruction type vids, they are generally about 5 minutes long. Everything else on my puter is running fine. I run adaware and have virus protection, but this just stumps me.
i think it happens when your puter is grabbing it faster than they dish it out. it happens to me too. sometimes i have to reset my modem because i get shut off from the internet. i've just accepted the inconvenience and it happens about 5% of the time. for me.
