depending on what model and options, in canadian $ they range from $85,000 to $165,000 if one were to purchase a GTS (600 horsepower) lol

I would never get out of first gear here in Toronto with the GTS...LOL

The dealership and I are about $15K apart, trying to see if I can bring the price down..

T-bonez, if you want I can ask jack for your email so that I may send you the pics...let me know

Robin Egg Blue 1962 Chevy Impala 4 Dr Hardtop, 327/250 hp and a three on the tree, I had the Super Sport wheel covers on her back then. Those wheel covers were the trick way to go IF you didn't have chrome reverses or chrome slots. OF course the Baby Moon :moon: caps were cool also. She would run over 130 MPH top end took a couple of miles to get there but she would do it, not sure how it held together at that speed but she did.

LMFAO reading these replies.......:)

My first car was a 1978 VW Rabbit.....it was one of the earliest cars that ran on unleaded fuel......it would take either leaded or unleaded and it got great gas mileage. I got it in Jan 1981 right after I got my first drivers license and drove it all through high school and my first year of college.

Caught some chit from my buddies about driving it when most of them were driving 70's muscle cars. I always had a few bucks in my pockets while they were always broke buying gas for their rides......:p

Kansas City area for who knows how long....
1971 Ford Torino 2-door

1971 Ford Torino 2-door

351 Cleveland 2-bbl (our ex-family car)

it moved even with those two barrels. Freinds who learned to drive in early 80's with those four-bangers and 85 mph speedos couldn't believe the power of the Torino and got speeding tickets in it.

I told them that Ford offered a more powerful version of engine, or another much bigger engine with three power options!

I owned another after this one burned up on I-5 near Redding CA when notorious Ford rear wheel bearing locked up (I heard the noise and dealt with it by turning up stereo!)

then owned a nice 1968 GT Torino that ran rings around the 1987 LTD cop car I got in 1989.

still have a DOVE-A Cobra Jet 429 block in pieces in my mom's garage bored and stroked out to 523 CI and gotta find a CJ Torino someday to put it in and relive those youthful years....

Car looked like this, but was green with the black roof and no mags:

1986 Dodge 600 Almost a "K"-car, Almost a Lebaron, but not the Dodge 600 was the cheaper version.

My Grandmother was trading it in when I was approaching 16 and she let me have it. We nickname the car "Grandma". It was Maroon and drove like a dream. I beat the hell out of that poor car.

My birthday fell 7 days short of me not being a grade level higher so I was the first to turn 16 and I drove everyone everywhere.
We ramped it over a hill everyday when I drove the carpool after school. We shot bottle rockets out of the windows. We played "mailbox baseball" late at night.

I caught it on fire once by storing the fireworks in the trunk and having some "jumping jacks" jump into the trunk. They lit the other fireworks and tourched the carpet in the trunk. We threw beer, vodka, and soaked our shirts in lake water to extinguish the fire.

Man, those were the days. Thanks for the post. Good times....Good times.....

1978 Camaro Sport Coupe Black on Black. Man was that car hot. My dad and I now own a 1957 Chevy Belair that was willed to us by my great aunt. 43,000 miles on it. Little old lady who drove it to church and the grocery store. It has receipts in the glove box when she had service done on it back in the early sixties. $5.00 for the water pump and $2.50 labor = $7.50 for the whole job. Anyone remember those days. Great Thread

Got a couple of piece of chit cars handed down to me from my folks when I was younger. The 1st car I bought with my own money was a '87 Ford Mustang GT 5.0. It was my pride and joy. Friggin loved that car until I crashed it in the middle of a snowstorm in Chicago in '97, 1s time I heard myself scream......thought I was a goner. The car basically wrapped around me, the paramedics couldn't believe I got away with a bump on my head:eek:

The year was 1963 and my grandmother was kind enough to give me the princely sum of $1300 to buy a cherry 1957 Chevy Nomad. I had some great times in that one. I kept it for about 2 1/2 years and was able to trade it straight across for a 1958 Corvette, removable hard top. Man - those were the days.

1967 Pontiac Tempest 4-Door, straight 6 with add-on air. Paid a whopping $75.00 for it and drove it for two years until it died. A farmer paid me $20.00 for the add-on air, he had to take the whole car. Put the A/C in a tractor and buried the car in a ravine on his property. Moved up to a 1971 TR-6 (no A/C) after that.
