So being a "working man" gives you carte blanche to eschew common courtesy?

You can be demanding, rude, cut in front of others, etc, because you are working? And I can't call an asshole an asshole unless I've "put in my time" as a door to door salesman? Right.

I'm in airports about 6 times a year. Sadly, they are all vacation trips, and I don't have the luxury of being a business class stiff who looks down on travelers as if they are partying in his office. So, I can't feel that pain.

I do know that I have worked more than my fair share of 16 hour days in the can, and when I stop at McD's on the way home, it doesn't give me the right to shit on the rest of the people in line.

I think it would be safe to say that when most people are in an airport, right after the screaming baby.......the guy in the suit with the laptop, and two suitcase sized carry-ons is the least desirable type they want to be near.

Like it or not, that is a dam good post!

That wasnt a squirt, that was a hose down.

what the hell is it about me with a madjacker in vegas being assaulted by barkeeps? I thought the incident with Kosar at the Carnival Bar where the juggling bartender exploded the bottle of Corona right in front of me would have been an isolated incident. ...Tthat was pretty damn scary to have glass shattering right in front of me.

...Come to think of it, weren't we in the same hotel that has the Carnival Bar for that last attack? Harrah's has it in for me!

I'm not sure why you are so hostile YYZ. I could guess a lot of reasons for your poor behavior. But I'm going to take the high road and not be deragatory. I don't have a beef with you per se. The beef is about the the stuff you said.

Do you really think in today's business world that business travelers BUY 1st class or business class tickets? Maybe the CEO's. But not the rest of us. Now, many of us do get upgraded due to flying 100K miles a year for free, but rest assured, our companies would never pay for anything but coach. And when you have your own company, everything comes out of our own pockets.

You should be thanking business travelers - they are the ones that help keep your ticket prices low so you can take your vacations every year. Without business travelors ticket prices would be much, much higher.

And while there may be some business travelers that appear the way you say, most of them are working hard, traveling and being away from their family, just to get by.

For you to characterize a person by the type of work they do or the way they look is no different than saying "all african americans are dumb".

Being a business traveler, I found your comments extremely out of line. And I called you on it.

It wouldn't kill you to admit your mistake. But if you like to disparage groups of people for what they do or how they look without knowing the person themselves, then go ahead and do so.

Most people call that type of behavior a form of racism and discrimation, and based on your comments, I would think that type of behavior is consistent with what you are all about.

It is sad. Learn not to hate. You'll have a much better life YYZ.

Have a good day.

I agree about the stupid ear pieces, they look retarded, can people put down their stupid phone for 1 minute? Granted, some people have business to attend to on laptops & are pressed for time, need to talk to someone about something important, etc, but you think you're in a bizarro world indeed, the vegas airport takes the cake as being the biggest clusterphuck airport ive ever seen besides ny, the lines were outrageous and the stupid slot machines, disorganized nature, etc, driving places is so much better

Some people have 'business' to attend to, but anytime I see some dick with that thing coming our of their ear, talking and walking?

USE THE CELL PHONE LIKE EVERYBODY ELSE DOES! PUT IT TO YOUR EAR.

Kosar, LMFAO....

It's called "progress" my man.

You were probably the same guy that yelled "why aren't you riding a horse like everyone else" to the guy driving by in his Model T Ford......:mj07:

Nothing personal, Mags, but to me it's no great 'advancement' to have the pleasure of not only packing your phone on your belt, but also having the tumor coming out of your ear, whether you need it or not.

There's nothing more amusing than going to 7-11 and seeing some dork like yourself running around with this plastic clump around their ear.

On the course!

This was the statement that I typed which you took umbrage to:

The airport is it's own world.

I want one good explanation as to why no one has ever opened fire in an airport in a major US city?

There are more self-important assholes in airports per square foot, then anywhere else, bar none.

For some reason, you took it upon yourself to assume that I was talking about businessmen! I wonder why that would be? (Maybe because you know the description fits all too well, no matter the social stigma that may be thrust upon the weary bidnez traveler?)

Seems to me......you sound guilty as charged!

What do most people call that type of behavior?

I do appreciate the fact that, with all the subtle zingers you tossed my way in the last post, you didn't gimmie the old, "I can buy and sell you ten times over".

Wow. Don't have much to say about that I guess. I always thought MJ'ers were friendly, even some classy, bunch. But I've seen you provide unprovoked attacks on people before, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

To rip on someone for using anyone that makes their business life easier and more efficient - well, if that makes you feel better, good for you.

Yeah, 'unprovoked.'

Dish it out. Take it. And deal with it.

Actually, I think I'm on board for the ear thingy now. I don't wanna be like the rest of the playa hatin jerks on this board. If someone provides me one for free, I will use it SPECIFICALLY for the purpose of pissing people off in the airport.

The thing I don't understand is what kind of business are you in where you have to be in constant contact. It just seems absurd. In my last job, I traveled a few times to help launch new plants and had to answer the occasional mayday call, but that is to be expected. I guess I just don't get it and probably never will, but I hope I never work at such a poorly run outfit where I can't even sit and relax for an hour before getting on a plane. I think it says a lot about your employer when they can't part with you for a day. Work-life balance is probably low on the priority list.

As for the blue tooth enabled tools roaming Bed Bath & Beyond on a Saturday afternoon.....what a complete embarrassment. I wish these self-important pricks could find it in their hearts to leave the phone in the car for 20 minutes, but I won't hold my breath.

Mags--

Being a frequent flyer, in my opinion, does not give someone the rights to invade everyone else's space (this includes noise levels). I have way more patience for a fussy baby than a loud cell phone talker. It is very similar to having that person in your car that answers a call and dominates the entire space of the car so noone else can communicate to each other. Then they take it a step further and ask you to be quieter because they can't hear. That's my main riff with the ear pieces. Not the person, but the rights they think that come with it.

And to act like you are more "progressive" because you are an early adopter of technology by using a blue tooth ear piece is a very "self-important" behavior.

I read a very good blog post the other day about early adopters. Being one myself outside of cell phones (see post above), I found it a very eye-opening take. I will try to find it and post a link.

so on my way back from the superbowl trip

so on my way back from the superbowl trip

i was sitting at my gate in phoenix, head back, eyes closed, relaxing, miserably.

remember, i'm coming off a 4 day drinking and partying binge with the madjacksports knuckleheads. that's draining, let me tell ya.

and i'm *trying* to relax before i get on the plane (and that's a whole other story and ANOTHER pet peeve - people moving quickly to get on and off the plane). and some guy starts talking real loud.

he sitting directly in front of me (with his ear piece) not 4 feet away and talking so loud you would think he's talking to someone 50 yards away from him.

my head popped up to see WTF was going on and i see this suit babbling away.

jesus, pal, go somewhere else and talk.

i calmly got up and moved away from his loud ass.

gimme a break and tone it down, it's annoying okay?!

Here is a good site for people just like Mags...

The "Real men of genius!"

http://www.husnain.com/budlight.htm

One of my pet peeves is watching these dikwads scramble at the luggage carrousel(sp) as if they only have one shot to get their bag. Last time I was there I watched some guy (seriously) knock over six people in a mad dash to get his bag, (they were handicapped no less), cuss everyone out, then stand there and wait for 2 more bags!!

I calmly said "you do realize this thing goes in a circle, and you get more than one chance to get your bag right?".

Fkin A-HOLES...
