bourbon street is back in full swing.

hotel rooms are going to be hard to get now unless you are staying in Kenner or Metairie,

Harrah's has a hotel now, and they have the hilton, sheraton, hyatt, etc.

I personally like the 'W' hotel, very 'new-age'. All hotels are within walking distance to dome..

Your right nothing available around the stadium. Would you recommend kenner/metaire or would I be better off to stay at the casino in bay st. lious and drive? Thanks Man

bay st. louis is too FAR.

try kenner and metairie. airport is in kenner, if flying so you'd be going that way anyway.

I agree. The W is my favorite hotel of all time and it is conveniently right between Harrah's and Mother's Restaurant.

MOTHER'S

In a single year, Mother's serves up:

No less than 175,000 pounds of ham and roast beef
More than 40,000 pounds of turkey
A staggering 30,000 pounds of homemade sausage
Quarter of a million biscuits (and even more eggs!)
A whopping 90,000 pounds of jambalaya
Some 25,000 soft-shell crabs and even more shrimp
Nearly 250,000 pounds of cabbage
An incredible 150,000 loaves of French bread
As many pies as there are ships passing through the port of New Orleans (3,500)
A spicy 1,500 gallons of Creole mustard
And an honest ton of hot pepper sauce

I would not recommend Metairie or Kenner. Bay St Louis is out of the question.

These qulaity hotels have availability for 12-30 thru 1-4 according to Expedia:

Ritz $350/night
Lowes $285
Hotel L' Cirque $187
International House $265
Renaissance Arts $293

I am familiar with all, but the last one which appears to be a newly renovated warehouse. All are very close to Harrah's. Lowe's and Int'l house are on the same block as Harrah's. The Ritz is 4 or 5 blocks away toward's the Superdome.

Thanks man, I googled maped it and clicked on most of of the hotels around the stadium and they all said none available. I assumed it would be the same for all. Figured one of you good ole SEC fellers would have offered up a spare bedroom by now:SIB Just messin, thanks for the info!

Went for the first time this past year and really enjoyed it.

Stayed at the Renaissance and thought it was a great location being at the corner of Bourbon and Canal.
