Friend is graduating from law school tomorrow....then on to the post graduation party. We rented a cabin at the lake for the rest of the weekend.... Grilling, beer and boating.... :)

...but Kelly, if you really need help with your *bush trimming* I'm sure we could find some helpful MJ member in your neck of the woods. :SIB

Well everyone have a great weekend. It's time for me to get it started. Hitting the patio at Primo's for some margaritas. If you have ever been to Primos in Dallas then you know what a treat I'm in for.

Smoking a brisket, ribs, and a boston butt on Monday at the lake. Beer and cornhole all day.

Pretend like I'm working on Tuesday while I sleep on the couch in my basement...

According to Dr. Ted Gansler, director of Medical Content for the American Cancer Society, eating excessive amounts of grilled meat or chicken can increase your risk of developing cancer. This is also true for pan-fried meats at high temperatures.

Current research tells us that the well done or charred meats pose the highest risk.

The problem that cooking at very high temperatures break down the amino acid, creatine, in meats. When this occurs, chemical is formed, heterocyclic amines (HAs). HAs are carcinogenic and are linked to cancer.

:scared :scared

I am going w/ some Thai steamed trout & broiled Lobster tails.

Charcoal Grillin' and smoking don't take much

Charcoal Grillin' and smoking don't take much

gonna fire this one up again.

Buddy had damn gas grill at his trailer here at lake so I went to local Sprawl-Mart to buy this 20 buck cheapo charcoal grill---in a pinch, gets the job done!

It has a warming rack in lid you can use for cooking "indirect heat" items longer, on lower temps, like sausage.

And I was also able to do setup below--pan of water over wood and charcoals, putting chicken thighs on warming rack--to do some smoking too! Put thermometer in lid vents to monitor temps.

had to whack the bushes here to keep the ticks off me...
