Decided to make a separate thread. Today is Day One and it looks like it will be tough but not too bad.

Gibber, I'd love for you to follow this thread just in case of some questions or just to see how I'm doing, etc.

I had strawberries and blueberries for breakfast. Some veggies for lunch that I got on this tray thing at the store. Carrots, celery, tomatos, broccoli.

Just ate dinner. Sweet potato and steamed squash, both with organic unsalted butter and an organic spinach salad with Annie's Something salad dressing.

Not too bad but overall, but I know its going to be killing me by next week (or this weekend) not to have any meat, beer, or soda.

Quick questions. I bought organic honey for the green tea but its not raw honey. Does that matter? Also, I am assuming the green tea has to be decaf? So far, just water but don't want to drink JUST water for the whole 21 days.

I know people are going to give me a lot of chit...b/c I'd do the same to them, lol. But I think it will be motivation not to quit.

More to come. :)

Good luck. I don't think meat or soda will be a problem I don't do soda and have given up meat for 6 months several times. Keep updating!!

Thanks. I will probably ramble on here from time to time over the next 21 days. Like Gibber said, if nothing else, just to help get through it.

One thing I learned tonight is that I can't believe how simple it is to steam vegetables. So when its over, that will be an option to canned and frozen vegetables.

I really want to get through this and then just live consistently healthier without being too strict.

All right you started!

I hope you get the same results i did. I was just commenting to my wife this morning that i dont miss the diet at all but i really miss how good i felt every day. Oh man and you are going to sleep better than you have in your entire life.

Not sure about the honey. I would say as long as there is not added sugar in it you are probably ok. the only ingredient should be honey. No mas

How are the shakes treating you? I would make a fruit smoothie in the morning with the powder and it kept me full most of the day.

You will probably have some headaches in the next few days so remember to sweat sweat sweat! It is key to getting the toxins out.

Good luck my friend!

Remember to take a picture or measure your waistline so you can see your results.

Man you are going to be sick of veggies! hahaha

Day 2, so far so good.

It says you can eat one sweet potato per day. I'd like to lose maybe 5-10 pounds, but no more. What I want is to get rid of a gut and get a lot more energy as well as better sleep.

I'm also hoping to not look so rundown after this is over. I can see darkness under my eyes and just a rundown look. I'm sure part is from just aging, but also from too much alcohol, soda, greasy food, stress, lack of sleep, not enough water and good foods.....

Ate about the same stuff today for breakfast and lunch. Went to my parents after work and they asked me to stay for dinner. They had pork chops and french fries. I had steamed vegetables. Not too hard, its only Day 2, but that food looked really good. Ha.

As for the shakes, so far I haven't taken any time with them. Just been throwing them in water and stirring, then guzzling. Not a big deal for me.

I did make the mistake of buying cod liver oil....I thought I had gotten the capsules. I got home and opened it and almost spilled it....its a dam liquid. That stuff is NASTY...

Ok, just found out something that is not good news for me. Green tea SUCKS. I put the honey in it, that stuff is awful. I guess its b/c its honey and not sugar and also b/c green tea isn't regular tea, but I was really looking forward to seeing how it tastes so I don't have to just have water.

Dude, you said you want to lose 5-10 lbs total and you're putting yourself through this 21 day thing for that?????
Just cut back and have salad for dinner with a little broiled chicken every other day and you'll lose that 10 lbs in half the time!

No....the major goal is not to lose 5-10 pounds. Its because I have really worn myself down. I was never ultra-healthy anyway, but have been very active my wholel life. The last couple/few years I've just noticed how tired I seem to always be with no energy.

This may be a little drastic for what I need, but after this last year maybe not.

I'm 5'11 and 185 pounds, which is the most I've ever weighed. I think 175-180 would be better, but its mainly about a gut that has really developed the last several months.

Like I've said, really want to get through this program and then find moderation as I have hit my mid-30's.

Day 3, blueberries and raspberries for breakfast with a shake. Will have some veggies and salad dressing for lunch and for dinner, a sweet potato with steamed veggies and a salad.

Nothing bad yet, but I'd love a mountain dew right now.
