Yea, you should pretty much run this thing. You make a lot more sense than these fools...

:142smilie Yeah, I'm sure the soccer purists would be thrilled with that endeavor. I would bastardize the sport to no end. I can't stomach watching 90+ minutes of a sport and seeing one goal scored, so I would shorten the field to about 50 yards, have no offsides, have a "2-point line," have automatic suspensions for flopping, etc.

Anyone remember indoor soccer? Now that I could watch, because there were always about 17 goals scored in each game. I'm sure the soccer purists LOVED indoor soccer. :0002

Now you are classifying rugby as a sport? Holy crap...

I was thinking about the Olympics, which is probably the most sports that occur together at an international level? I think the US almost always dominates, maybe I am wrong.

Like I said, I lived in Ghana for awhile so I consider it my "second" country, and I think winning will mean a lot more to the people there than it would to Americans.

I remember back in the day when we had the old mighty NASL.
International stars like Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Giorgio Chinaglia, Errol Yassin and other big stars.
I used to love watching the New York Cosmos what a team that was :toast:

I like your thinking. I would go so far as to actually remove the goalie. Think about all the extra scoring and running away from each other. Simply thrilling. If you get beat, then you deserve to get scored on...

Seems to me that soccer is one of the easiest sports to pick up on and understand. yeah the clock is in constant motion and it counts up. is that really so hard to understand and comprehend? At the 45 minute mark, they let you know how much "stoppage time" will be added. Other than that, use your feet, not your hands....and kick the ball into the other teams goal. Highest score wins. I guess the potentially hardest rule to understand is offsides...but even that isnt hard to understand (unless you are a World Cup referee in a USA game)

Well you are right about the last comment, it would mean a lot to Ghana not going to argue with ya there.

As for Rugby, next to the World Cup of Soccer, more people in the world watch that Rugby World Champs then any other event on the planet.

kegray plays indoor soccer on Mondays and Thursdays.

I have scored more goals this week than Findley has scored in his life.

Now we're getting somewhere. And they could put a "safe zone" at the end of each sideline for the respective teams. When a guy scores he has to haul ass to make it to the safe zone. If he makes it before his teammates get to him, they can't touch him. But if they get to him before he gets to the safe zone, he has to endure a public flogging at the hands of his teammates.

Sounds like you are well on your way to inventing a new sport. Kinda like Baseketball :00hour
