I remember back in the day when we had the old mighty NASL.
International stars like Pele, Franz Beckenbauer, Giorgio Chinaglia, Errol Yassin and other big stars.

I thought I was the only one who would remember when Pele went to New York. My parents loved soccer, so of course I got sucked into it.
I grew up in Dallas, so our team was the DallasTornado's. I will always remember when the Pele first came to Dallas to play, we had season tickets, we waited in the rain to get in the stadium. It was soo huge for soccer fans. I even went to Dallas Tornado soccer camp as a youngster. cool memories, I was fortunate condsidering we didnt have much money.

I agree you should be punished, but a free kick on the goal? What is the percentage they make that shot - I would guess around 70%+? Just seems like, when scoring is so minimal, that the punishment does not fit the crime.

It does add excitement. Someone scores.

When you foul an opposing player in the squared box it's a penalty shot that's the rules.
A free kick is outside that box with a wall of opposing players 10 yards away.
Now we have 2- 15 minutes of playing time and if no one scores to win it it goes into penalty kicks

Yep. Literally, death. They should have a Kumite at the end of regulation to decide who the winner is.
