Every time I see that puke in a flight suit
Tenzing had on a flight suit?
Every time I see that puke in a flight suit
Gee, I don't know Wayne...I don't think it's that surprising that the times when Dubbya comes around for his photo ops with the troops, that they do the normal thing, clap, salute, that kind of thing. It probably would not be a good thing if they didn't, would it?
Have you ever seen a presidential visit to troops where they didn't pretty much do that? I doubt that they can all adequately show anything but allegiance to their "commander in chief" and a good show for the cameras, right?
Seems that only when the troops, generals, etc., get out of that situation that they speak differently. Sure are a lot of generals over the past few years that are quite outspoken against the way this war has been fought, our reasoning, the President himself, and countless other things that don't show up when they are on camera with officers around.
I sure wouldn't expect them to act any differently, it's part of the job, essentially. To take credit for behavior that has gone on throughout history is a stretch, in my mind.
When was your last visit:shrug:
Not a short memory, I don't remember that at all Wayne - I'm sure you can link it for me? Remember others where he was roundly applauded, and warmly welcomed. Most PResidents are and were, as most would agree. And remember some Bush telecasts that didn't show much excitement. I'd imagine there are plenty of soldiers in Iraq that aren't too thrilled with Bush after being denied coming home and making 3-4-5- return visits when they weren't supposed to. But I guess those guys are just troublemakers, or problems.
Except for maybe the guy that lost a leg that Bush wanted to race on the lawn soon...![]()
Well, that does clear up one thing, Wayne, and that is probably why I don't remember it. The link was to a group of Vets that wanted to make a statement against Clinton - and not a group of active soldiers. My point was specifically about active soldiers, and not an organized protest by a group wanting to make a statement.
And, I guess my point of no-longer-active Vets who are unhappy with Bush would definitely be in play now, right? Because I think we all agree there are plenty of those - if not, I think it's pretty disingenous.
Now seriously Chad just think for minute--do really think those with courage that volunteer to be in harms way--are going to back a party and candidates supported by liberal code pink protesting pansie element that boycout recruiting-ROTC and burn flags-disrupt speaches ect.
I can tell you the answer--NO WAY
