if you are really concerned about safety in your car Lumi reccomended this gun the judge

I came close to buying one when he posted about it but my wife would'nt let me. I got enough guns she said.

The only problem with keeping a gun in the car is that if you just leave it in there some bad things can happen.

Your car gets stolen and you lose the gun too and have to go to trouble of reporting that so if someone is killed with your gun you dont go to jail for life.

make sure you keep the seriel number , model etc so that if you do lose it you can make a report.

Your car can be broken into and the gun taken as they rummage around.

What I do is I do not always carry a gun in my car nowadays unless I am going to be going downtown Atlanta, in neighborhoods I dont know, or just feel like I might need it around that day.

Also keeping a gun in a family car is not good. You just cant take the chance of a family member finding it and hurting themself or others.

and never ever let anyone drive the car with the gun you own in the car. Big mistake to do that .

Even if I wanted a Sig there is no way I could go that direction given the price I am getting. One of my friends who has zero interest in guns got these when his dad passed and he is basically looking to get them out of the house.

ruger is not my style and have never fired one. '

Whatever gun you decide to get , just make sure that you go to the range and shoot it . Get familiar with the gun.

As a matter of fact before I bought that I would go to a range and talk to them about how you will use the gun. They may have one they will let you shoot.

Nothing more of a pain to pay alot of money for a gun and then when you go to shoot it it dont feel right in your hand, is hard to load, jams, kick back is not what you expected etc

if the barrel is at all short , you will only be accurate at close range which may be fine.

If you want to shoot at any distance at all you may not be able to hit a bulls ass with a banjo,

rules vary state to state

if you are going to carry a gun in your car , you just need to make the effort to get a concealed weapons permit.

The first part of this statement is true, the second is not. You need to famiiiarize yourself with the castle doctrine laws of your state. They are all different. Your automobile is viewed as an extension of your home. In most states, it is legal to carry a loaded weapon in your vehicle, w/o a CCW permit. Not sure how much you travel to the west, but Illinois doesn't allow concealed carry by anybody, and if you travel through there with your gun, you need to look up "peaceable journey", and follow those instructions to a T. I'm surprised you don't have to take any type of class to get your CCW permit in Indiana. To get a permit in Missouri, you have to take an 8 hour class and prove yourself with a firearm at a distance of 7 yards. Not hard, but required. You outta do yourself a favor and take a class anyway, just to educate yourself on all of the legalities involved, and also to practice so you are comfortable with it. Not something you wanna be wrong on.

There are many, many law enforcement agencies that issue Glocks as their duty weapons. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be using them if they were unreliable. I have a Glock 23, and its gone boom everytime I've pulled the trigger. UGA, if you pass on that 27, I might be interested if its at a favorable price. Been looking for something a little smaller.

This is all that is required in Indiana and I have already submitted the application.

You are permitted to carry in your car. You can even carry your weapon in bars :scared

What are the requirements for an Indiana concealed weapons permit?
Must provide fingerprints, fill out one page application that includes personal information such as height, weight, race, hair and eye color, and reason for carrying (the two options for reason for carrying are personal protection and target shooting)

What are the required documents when applying for an Indiana concealed weapons permit?
The only required documents to apply for an Indiana concealed handgun license are the application and fingerprint cards.

I'm just doing this to do it.

I did the same for a Real Estate license.

Just something to have even though I may never use it.

Just gotta make sure it is concealed at all times, unless you need it for protection. You can be shit faced drunk, and as long as the weapon is concealed, you're still legal. You get a DWI with a loaded weapon in your car, and its an automatic felony, atleast it is here.

When all of these states started giving out CCW permits, law enforcement was freaking out. They have since learned they were wrong, and realized that anybody that took the time to take classes, go through the background checks, and pay the fees, were generally not the ones to be concerned about. Some officers still don't like it, but most don't have any problems with it. I can only imagine that in the instance provided earlier in this thread, if the person displayed the same personality traits to the officer, as he does on here, the officer probably had every right to be a douchebag.

stop your blabbering. I'm busy looking for a new place with a white picket fence, maybe a big oak suitable for a tire swing and enough space in the yard for a hammock.
