I would ALWAYS carry a Glock over a Sig, however, I have heard some bad reports on the Generation 4 Glocks( newer models). Go with a Glock 17 or 19, generation 3. 9mm round is a quicker round, allows more bullets in the mag., and hardly recoils. .40 caliber kicks like a SOB. If you are looking for a larger round, go with .45 ACP in a Glock generation 3. Big bullet, less recoil than a .40 I would also suggest carrying the longest barreled gun you are comfortable with. They are more accurate and recoil less. For a great pocket gun, look at S&W 642 j frame without the "lawyer lock". These are chambered in 38 special. Finally, once you buy a gun, GET SOME TRAINING!!!!

I can only imagine that in the instance provided earlier in this thread, if the person displayed the same personality traits to the officer, as he does on here, the officer probably had every right to be a douchebag.

On the course!
stop your blabbering. I'm busy looking for a new place with a white picket fence, maybe a big oak suitable for a tire swing and enough space in the yard for a hammock.

You seriously should, if you fear for your fucking life where you are.

That's not rocket science.

So, now MJs is full of millionaires who are all in perfect shape, have a trophy wife, raise their kids better than Dr Phil, but live in the rough part of town?

You guys are great! Don't ever change!!!

I will try to answer all the questions in this one or 2 replies.

Glocks are good Weapons. They started the Polymer firearm rage !

I do not own a Glock, I own several + Weapons from Springfield Armory. Also a polymer grip. The .22 conversion kit for my .45 is much cheaper than that of the Glock.

Jack,

If you want to get a CCW I would suggest

A) Check your email soon....

As for weapons?

Do you want Cadillac, Power, Mag Capicity ? Revolver or Semi-Auto?

Starting with the caliber.

.380 Sig Sauer makes a great semi-auto as does Beretta :0074

.38 Ruger or Taurus Revolvers, the benifit of a revolver is no jams, the negative is, if you don't have speed loaders and don't know hoe to use them, hit the pavement.

9MM Springfield of course ! It's like having a souped up Mustang compared to Kimbers mm, which is a Ferrari

.40 Sprinfield again and a Taurus.

The above 2 firearms are relatively cheap to shoot, 9mm and.40 are easy to find and come in bricks of 100 and 200 at nice prices !

Also, as I have mentioned. for the Springfield 9, it is cheaper, $250 for the .22 conversion kit.

Getting up to the BIG BOYS NOW

.45 Colt ! DUH ! I have a Springfield Range Officer,
Kimber. Knighthawk, Les Baer make high speed guns in this caliber !

Places to online price compare

If anyone else wants CCW info, contact me, unless MJ say's it's OK to post the link?

Peace and Good Shooting

A simple question asked by UGA turns into a pissing contest ! :0074 :nono:

Those of us who shoot will have differing opinions, DUH !

But let's keep it civil FFS ! :0008

This is turning into a Raiders VS 49ers, Chargers, any NFL team thread :mj07:

Quit it, or you will be given a time out ! :00hour

you didnt really answer dumb ass UGA's question about buying the 20 year old guns from someone long gone.

the comparison is good

but would you do it ?

PS dont try to be too helpful in here , its not really appreciated.

I cant help it but I like guns. I have never shot and killed someone directly. But cant say I havent almost had to.

One time at the doctors office when I questioned a blood pressure machine. Other than that Im cool

You truly are a complete and utter piece of shit. Cold gave very good advice and even did it without being an incredibly pompous ass, you should take some notes.

BTW Captain was pointing out what a huge douche you are

I must have missed where UGA had said the weapons are 20 years old?

Take then to a gun smith and let him give you the "No Shitter" on it.

UGA,

also if you have a young one, over 13 I think it....

Go to your local range and there should be a "Daddy and Me" program. It's 5 or 6 weeks, 1 night a week, it will teach the child:
1) firearm safety
2) self discipline in other facets of life
3) good self esteem

and, if you aren't a shooter? I will get you trained up as well :0074

Even if I wanted a Sig there is no way I could afford one

One of my friends who has zero interest in guns got these when his dad passed and he is basically looking to get them out of the house.

his Dad was 95 so guns are probably 40 years old

Illum

here you missed this part

There are many, many law enforcement agencies that issue Glocks as their duty weapons. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't be using them if they were unreliable. I have a Glock 23, and its gone boom everytime I've pulled the trigger. UGA, if you pass on that 27, I might be interested if its at a favorable price. Been looking for something a little smaller.

Will let you know if the other becomes available, but pretty sure the other is spoken for. He was just giving me first dibs thus the interest in what lumi thought. If it works out different and it becomes available I will let you know. Thanks for the info:toast:

I have shot the 9mm's and the 40's and like you I would prefer the 9mm if he had one. He only has these 2 and I have shot the 23 before but do not believe I have shot the 27. Thanks for the info:toast:

Good video and great info. Aside from carrying in the woods from time to time, I do not carry on person very much. I plan on getting my kids involved in shooting in a few years and might look into one of those programs. Thanks for the information! Plan on shooting both, but all things equal if the only difference turns out to be mag capacity/looks, then I will probably go with the 27. Thanks again:toast:

advice please

advice please

I think I am going to buy this. I would have taken it home tonight but they made me wait the 3 days. Why do they delay someone, I don't have anything wrong in my background.

I like it because it's small and fits in my pocket very nicely. I want compact. I'll prob never shoot the damn thing except the first day to see how it works and so I know what to expect if I ever have to fire it.

just one suggestion jack

dont keep a bullet in the chamber

rack it from the clip if you have to use it

I had a friend that shot himself in the groin

and there was no way it could have gone off.
