Anyone seen it. Will not be in my area until Jan. 16th but heard it was out in select theatres. Read the book and cant wait to see it.

It looks like a good movie but Kyle seemed to be full of shit.

In the days after Hurricane Katrina, he said, the law-and-order situation was dire. He and another sniper travelled to New Orleans, set up on top of the Superdome, and proceeded to shoot dozens of armed residents who were contributing to the chaos. Three people shared with me varied recollections of that evening: the first said that Kyle claimed to have shot thirty men on his own; according to the second, the story was that Kyle and the other sniper had shot thirty men between them; the third said that she couldn?t recall specific details.

Had Kyle gone to New Orleans with a gun? Rumors of snipers?both police officers and criminal gunmen?circulated in the weeks after the storm. Since then, they have been largely discredited. A spokesman for U.S. Special Operations Command, or SOCOM, told me, ?To the best of anyone?s knowledge at SOCOM, there were no West Coast SEALs deployed to Katrina.? When I related this account to one of Kyle?s officers, he replied, sardonically, ?I never heard that story.? The SEAL with extensive experience in special-mission units wondered how dozens of people could be shot by high-velocity rifles and just disappear; Kyle?s version of events, he said, ?defies the imagination.? (In April, Webb published an article on SOFREP about the incident, but took it down after concluding that Kyle?s account was dubious.)

Reading the book right now....

Like it so far, I always like to compare the book to the movie. For example, the facebook book was much better than the movie. So was Wolf on Wall Street book.

predictable if not weak plot.
excellent performance by cooper
they should get an Oscar for a preview. def a movie to watch though

makes you appreciate.....well.... everything a little more.....

how much is true and how much is cinema...who knows but a good job by cooper and supporting roles....would absolutely recommend it....


I don't think it is a top 10 of all time type movie, but very good....

great movie--was never a badass like kyle, but relived my 2 tours in iraq

not sure of every event that occurred but the portrayal of how cities in iraq are shitty is dead on

plus the battle between war and family is legit--felt it from the beginning

im lucky not be fd up like some who i fought by side by side, but the scars will always be there

i truly believe isis is as big of a threat as we have ever faced--im too fkn old and now have a family i need to take care of, but those who accept the challenge are worthy of our support simply bc the USA is the best fkn country in the world--

not sure everything is factual but can tell you the setting is spot on

hats off to kyle --no doubt 160 killed only kept more Americans from being killed--american hero:0008

Great movie. I cant imagine what you and all who have served have seen and have been through. Thank you for serving. :0008:0008
