Great stuff Eeee, FCP & Dead Money......... I never saw Jim Brown play on the tv, we always got the local teams when I was a youngster, the Giants or Jets, back then it was Tarkenton @ QB for Gints and Broadway Joey for JetsJetsJets and Emerson Boozer, etc.
I remember watching a few snow games at the old stadium the Browns played in way back then when Phipps, Sipe and some other mutton head I can't recollect at the moment were QBs, fun to watch mud and slop and dirty uniforms then and gridlock on the field and see players slide 20 yards in the mud diving to tackle RBs.
This admin for the Browns is a clusterfuck to put it bluntly, Farmer is a well spoken guy and has a good acumen to be a good front office guy, not the same as Ozzie Newsome imho, and he was in on the interview for Pettin so everyone does know, so Petten will get every chance to be a Head Coach but he better do better than Chud did in his only year. Wheeden wants out and good riddance, he's a stiff older QB who should have stayed on the mound but he didn't like giving up the gopher ball and walking the dead around the bases, he thought he was another Chris Weinke, Weinke couldn't play baseball either, very slow bat out of Minnesota HS ranks and lucky he played FB for Fla St and Bobby B, not many former MLB players make good QBs in the NFL - but anyways, Manziel like Dead Money stated, "Would get broken like a pencil in the NFL!", but my argument here for Johnny would be, he runs and has good instinct of running away from trouble and he doesn't avoid hits when it matters to get a first down or few yards. Russell Wilson has helped Johnny's stock in this draft, now the kid wants to skip his pro day, which a lot of players do at the bequest of their friggin agents which are just vultures in my opinion, I had to deal with some when I scouted in the MLB and worked in the NFL on the combine (BLESTO) which was a combine of Bills, Lions, Eagles scouts back in the day - we gave a battery of tests to players besides measure their individual body strength, speed, agility, etc., we also gave a character exam, something called the "Caliper" and if a player didn't grade out strongly, we passed on that player and from I'm told in today's scouting world in which I'm still associated with many - they use the battery tests including mental toughness and intelligence, especially on QBs. Thus far, Johnny hasn't taken that test, he will at the combine if he attends, if he don't attend it will hurt his stock.
For me and I might be a lil biased here, I'd draft down and pick up a couple more picks in the Draft and take Teddy Bridgewater, he's not a pussy, he has arm strength and he knows where his receivers are going to be, for Johnny M, he had one go to guy in Evans, who could leap above most DBs in the SEC and non-conference. The Browns also could use a complimentary receiver to go with Gordon, their TE did well in his first full season with the Browns and they could use some beef up front on the D line, I like the kids from Fla and Fla St in the DB and the big WR for Fla St who could be available in the latter part of the 1st round, early 2nd round.
I don't see hope with the Browns moving forward with this ownership group and I wish the NFL would step in and start to look for another group and push this group to sell, but that would violate some anti-trust thing you just know it and Goodell is a "YES MAN" when it comes to listening to owners, especially Jer Jonesy bonesy no clue of a owner there!! Just ask Jimmy J and Barry how smart of a guy Jer Jones is when it comes to football, just cuz he played in college doesn't make him a good NFL evaluator, Jimmy and Barry were much better players than Jer Jones ever was. :mj07:
I wish all the Browns fans much luck in 2014 and I'll definitely be routing for them on Draft day. But this clown that owns them, HAS TO GO!!
Later!
