How can this city have such a disfunctional ownership? Roulette wheel GMs, Head Coaches, drafting like crap..............this was once a very proud franchise, but they are becoming the laughing stock of the NFL!! I loved the days of Brian Sipe and Leroy Kelly and the real "Dawg Pound", then Modell moved the team and they got this sucker running the franchise into the ground literally!!

I really don't get how the NFL can let such idiotic owners in the proud game of the NFL!!

I'm A Clevelander,so I'm a Browns fan but it is getting harder and harder to remain one.The only reason I can see that this just took place is that Haslim wants to draft a QB with their 1st pick and Banner and Lombardie didn't want to.So they said we will step aside and let you do what u want. They made moves to load up on picks and think they were aiming at quality players and my guess is Haslim wants the guy(Manzell) who will sell tickets in his mind,so that will require coupling a few of these picks to move up and over pay for him, something they seen as a mistake, however that is what the Browns do make mistake after mistake, only time will tell if I'm right.

Why else do you hire a coach and then go and get rid of GM and not have your new GM have a say in who was hired to coach your team, just the Clowns who do everything ASS backwards.Next year should be the same old story get rid of Pettin because he wasn't the one Farmar wanted to hire.It sounds about right for Cleveland.

I want to be a Browns fan, I really do but they have lost me. To be honest, professional sports just doesn't get it for me at all anymore. If not for fantasy and a wager or two I doubt that I would even watch the NFL. Give me a good college or HS game anytime but they can keep the NFL and NBA

A far cry

A far cry

from the glory days of Jim Brown.....had chances with Marty ball, Sipes and Kosar....now ZERO hope...Manzell gonna get broken like a stale pretzel.

Made a bet at Venetian on Gbay 14-1 tonite, clerk chuckled when I called my $50. bet a "donation". I see Gbay getting to play-offs, then who knows...I can hedge it.
He said he actually had somebody tonite put money on Minnesota....we BOTH had a good chuckle on that one.

Browns were 70-1.....might as well be 700-1, ain't gonna happen.

Great stuff Eeee, FCP & Dead Money......... I never saw Jim Brown play on the tv, we always got the local teams when I was a youngster, the Giants or Jets, back then it was Tarkenton @ QB for Gints and Broadway Joey for JetsJetsJets and Emerson Boozer, etc.

I remember watching a few snow games at the old stadium the Browns played in way back then when Phipps, Sipe and some other mutton head I can't recollect at the moment were QBs, fun to watch mud and slop and dirty uniforms then and gridlock on the field and see players slide 20 yards in the mud diving to tackle RBs.

This admin for the Browns is a clusterfuck to put it bluntly, Farmer is a well spoken guy and has a good acumen to be a good front office guy, not the same as Ozzie Newsome imho, and he was in on the interview for Pettin so everyone does know, so Petten will get every chance to be a Head Coach but he better do better than Chud did in his only year. Wheeden wants out and good riddance, he's a stiff older QB who should have stayed on the mound but he didn't like giving up the gopher ball and walking the dead around the bases, he thought he was another Chris Weinke, Weinke couldn't play baseball either, very slow bat out of Minnesota HS ranks and lucky he played FB for Fla St and Bobby B, not many former MLB players make good QBs in the NFL - but anyways, Manziel like Dead Money stated, "Would get broken like a pencil in the NFL!", but my argument here for Johnny would be, he runs and has good instinct of running away from trouble and he doesn't avoid hits when it matters to get a first down or few yards. Russell Wilson has helped Johnny's stock in this draft, now the kid wants to skip his pro day, which a lot of players do at the bequest of their friggin agents which are just vultures in my opinion, I had to deal with some when I scouted in the MLB and worked in the NFL on the combine (BLESTO) which was a combine of Bills, Lions, Eagles scouts back in the day - we gave a battery of tests to players besides measure their individual body strength, speed, agility, etc., we also gave a character exam, something called the "Caliper" and if a player didn't grade out strongly, we passed on that player and from I'm told in today's scouting world in which I'm still associated with many - they use the battery tests including mental toughness and intelligence, especially on QBs. Thus far, Johnny hasn't taken that test, he will at the combine if he attends, if he don't attend it will hurt his stock.

For me and I might be a lil biased here, I'd draft down and pick up a couple more picks in the Draft and take Teddy Bridgewater, he's not a pussy, he has arm strength and he knows where his receivers are going to be, for Johnny M, he had one go to guy in Evans, who could leap above most DBs in the SEC and non-conference. The Browns also could use a complimentary receiver to go with Gordon, their TE did well in his first full season with the Browns and they could use some beef up front on the D line, I like the kids from Fla and Fla St in the DB and the big WR for Fla St who could be available in the latter part of the 1st round, early 2nd round.

I don't see hope with the Browns moving forward with this ownership group and I wish the NFL would step in and start to look for another group and push this group to sell, but that would violate some anti-trust thing you just know it and Goodell is a "YES MAN" when it comes to listening to owners, especially Jer Jonesy bonesy no clue of a owner there!! Just ask Jimmy J and Barry how smart of a guy Jer Jones is when it comes to football, just cuz he played in college doesn't make him a good NFL evaluator, Jimmy and Barry were much better players than Jer Jones ever was. :mj07:

I wish all the Browns fans much luck in 2014 and I'll definitely be routing for them on Draft day. But this clown that owns them, HAS TO GO!!

Later!

If you are interested in who/what BLESTO is, you can google it, it's under draft daddy. The combine is much larger today than about 20 years back, when it was the Bears, Bills, Eagles, Lions, Steelers, Chargers and a few other NFL clubs participating. Based on dues/fees and each team had to send a team scout to the workouts we had back then.

One of our best workouts ever was on a player named "Barry Sanders" out of Okie State who one GM wanted to take purely as a kick off and punt return man for his team!! :mj07:

They laughed at Rod Kush and Danny Fulton before Barry, and both of those players did well in the NFL, not all pros, but they played and contributed. Rod later after the NFL founded Rod Kush furniture in Omaha.

I like Bridgewater but I'm not a fan of moving down,we have done that too many times and missed.I actually liked what I seen in Hoyer and would love to see Watkins opposite Gordon as the starting WR's.Also need big help at LB,so I want to see those two spots filled first.Agree that Manzell was bailed out on a lot of plays by Evans just leaping and making a great catch on a ball that was just up for grabs, and also think he will try and play tough guy taking too many hits from defenders only to get injured.Bridgewater runs but looks to avoid getting hit unlike Jhonny,I will say I think Bridgewater will be a better pro then Manzell but I don't think either one will be in Cleveland....Gordon is a true beast at WR and if they can get Watkins I think that would really be beneficial for the O.I'm all onboard for Watkins at 4 and LB with 2nd #1 pick, look for a QB in round 3 or 4.Also need help opposite Hayden so fill that need in round 2,I think these are the most glaring needs and a good safety.

Watkins would be awesome for the Browns, I agree. Perhaps take in 4th-5th round, Garroppolo, he's got something about him that will make him an NFL guy, not a flashy, starting day 1 guy, but serviceable and ability to do things right, sorta like Frank Reich or Matt Flynn as quality BU QBs.

Hearing the Eagles DeSean Jackson could be in mix to go to Browns or another team in the AFC.

NOT a Browns fan not one player on that team ever grabs my attention.

THe top Brass suxxxxxxxxx they just keep fucking up every year and will never create consistency.

They are notch above the Lions. The only part of fan that i 'am is FADING this team every yaer they just burn your money past 11 years record ATS 81 - 95 54% losers and check out 1st game of year

1 win as home dog vs Ravens 1 cover vs Eagles ......most games were at home

record 1st game of year ATS 2 -9 82% losers :scared

this year final 7 games 1 -6 ATS 100% s/u losers Meanwhile Browines YOU are owned by Steelers all time Amazing that div rival will beat YOU s/u

1990s (Steelers 10?5)

2000s (Steelers 18?3)

2010s (Steelers 7?1)

Steelers are 79.5 % winners vs Browns

i think for past 23 years that is highest win % in any div

Browns have never set foot in a bowl they are 1 of 4 teams left in NFL to not appear in the Bowl

The Others are Lions , Jaguars , and the youngest Franchise Texans
Brwons made playoffs ONCE from 1999 - 2013 it was in 2002 @ steelers as an 8 point dog cashed tickets losing 36-33 from 2008 through 2010 1st 3 games each year 0 wins 9 losses 2-7 ATS

I'm happy i do not live in Cleve.

Maybe 2014 browns have better success BUT for some reason eaven with weak schedule this team just cannot succede ......... maybe if they played the other losers every year they could have a great year but how many times can you play the bottom feeders

Raiders, Jaguars, Bills ,Lions ,Redskins ,Buccaneers

BOL Brownie Fans :0002

Starting to think more and more that the Browns are all about Johnny, they were just smoke screening not sending anyone to his pro day and not being involved with him at the combine. He will sell tickets and that is what Haslim wants,Banner knew this was the wrong way to go and said I'm gone I don't want to be part of this anymore. He brought Hoyer in and wanted him as the QB.

Johnny football going to fare in the slop track division?

Pitt Cinncy Clev...

Of course the way they protect these modern QBs, the NFL will prevent a 280 pound Bubba from annihilating him on a
busted play.

He needs a dome team.. Hello Houston

I dislike not taking Watkins at 4,had u taken Watkins at 4 u give yourself insurance if Gordon was to mess up and get a yr suspension. Also had u taken Watkins they would have still got Johnny which I don't like either but if he does pan out you have one hell of a young dynamic offense. Just don't get not taking him there!

And apparently the Browns knew this would happen for a couple weeks.
