read into it wrong?? you typed I liked them for different reasons and then put the :com: smilie. Hmm, how would you interpret... ?

As far as trapping deer with feed, it's illegal to trap deer, and I would have no idea how to go about that?

Just because you perceived it with the intellect of a third grader doesn't make it so. I apologize for confusing you but 3 Seconds HATES hunting and I was stating he likes Deer not to kill them but on a PETA level... stupid argument.. forget it and apologize for getting the names mixed... As for trapping, if your putting apples down prior to season its trapping to get them to come to a specific area it's ILLEGAL. A dollar says you have a stand setup this fall within a couple hundred yards... Don;t try to spin your way out of it...

my bad, my third grade intellect can't handle your cranial prowess.

Baiting is also not illegal; get your facts straight. Those were also not my videos (I wish they were), but I thought some here would enjoy them.

Trapping involves a foothold trap like you might see in the old movies/cartoons that men used to get bears, wolves, foxes, etc. or a snare which is a loop of wire across a path that the animal walks into and gets 'snared'.

3 seconds, thanks, I also strive to be a very ethical hunter. I wouldn't even waste my time trying to tell you why hunting is a good thing because it will do no good. I will argue that hunting is much more humane than many of the meat industries, and hunters are the #1 stewards of the environment both hands on and monetarily.

Is that really needed?

Pretty much an asshole thing to do really. Quite insensitive & just gruesome & disgusting.

Glad to know you find humor in the slaughter of animals. Meat eater or not.

:wtf:

Seriously, I just confused the names and meant no offense to anyone, Six Five or 3 Second or Justin. Everyone has there sport, that's the beautiful thing about America. Again, apologize for the misnaming and if you check your apples thread I complimented you on the videos... Looking back I can see this is in the General Section and you could misconstrue my comment as animal loving in a different way... Having a GREAT college day and don't want any bad kharma with three games hanging in the balance for over 3 grand...

Best of luck to you guys...

Why cause I eat a meat 1 day out of the year? I think it makes me imperfect in my quest to be a veg, but hypocritical...no.

So, in your mind, you cant be against hunting unless you are a complete veg??? I dont feel that way myself.

It seems that some folks get angry at others cause they dont eat meat. I never understood that & any fault, like 1 meal a year of meat, they blast them on.

Odd. Cause I dont have an issues with meat-eaters, nor do I try & convert them or make them feel guilty. Its a personal choice & I respect whatever choice anyone makes in that regard. Its the right choice for you, just as my choice is the right choice for me.

you're just putting 65 down for hunting and i think it's a lot more humane what he's doing than the way our food is produced for us (like the pic i posted).

i don't hunt, btw. no use for it because i'm not cleaning it, not looking for it, not shooting it and not eating it.

I didnt even put 6'5 down. I actually complemented him for being an ethical hunter. Disagreeing with the practice, which he happens to partake in, isnt not putting him down or calling him a bad person.

I think this is a bit of a misunderstanding.

But I do agree w/ you about the way animals are treated in food factories. Its reprehensible.

No worries. I catch alot of the fish I eat right from the ocean a block from my house. I buy the rest fresh at local boats & markets.

I think being a veg 364.67 days a year is pretty good. My family is buying that turkey whether I eat part of it or not. I guess I am just weak & give in that one meal out of the year. Still think that is pretty solid overall on my end.

Good Luck the rest of the weekend!

PS. Take the Philly/Jets OVER & you will be :00hour tomarrow by the middle of the 3rd Q!

Cheers!

I hate hunting. I think it is a horrible hobby, sport or whatever you want to call it. I could speak on this & what I think of it for hours, but no reason to go on a lecture on the why, whats & how's of it here & now.

**Unless you hunt with your bare hands or a self made weapon out of natural materials (spear, bow, blade) & use the kill for practical purposes (food, clothing etc) & not just as a trophy of your supposed greatness. This I have no problem with at all, except if it is a protected or domestic animal.**

That being said I dont hate all hunters on personal level. I hate them as a whole, but not as individuals.

6'5, while I dont know him personally, strikes me as a responsible hunter. Someone who doesnt just kill as many deer as he can and collect them for trophys. I would bet he is for lack of a better term an ethical hunter (although I feel odd using those terms together).

So I guess what I am trying to say is that if you must hunt, PLEASE do it as little as possible, do it responsibly and as humanely as possible.

Thanks your local anit-hunting brigade! :SIB

You obviously know nothing of hunting. I grew up hunting and fishing as did my Dad and his Dad. It is in our heritage and one of the most family oriented and great things one can do. You should take your drivel elsewhere.

Hard to figure. A hunting thread that goes south, as that almost never happens.

I can't think of anything that would be more boring than hunting, but each to his own. Cleaning all those guts out just HAS to be a blast.

Fishing is almost as bad, but of the two, at least with fishing, you're normally on a boat in good weather where you can relax in the sun on deck enjoying a cocktail as your 'mates' stand straight up holding their pole (pun intended) for an hour along the rail just waiting to haul in a totally useless 10 pound King Mackerel.

But Rick makes a good point. I have very good memories fishing with my dad on Lake Michigan back in my JR High and High School days.

As a bonding experience with your dad? Very good.

As a voluntary recreational experience as an adult with your buds? Beyond boring.
