On the course!
Last night's Brewer victory was marred by an ugly incident.

Pittsburgh's Randall Simon smacked the Italian Sausage that is involved in the 'seventh inning stretch' race at Miller Park, with his bat!

(It was the only hit that Simon had all night!)

Eventhough he meant it as a joke. It was totally uncalled for.....

Very Poor Judgement.

This is a pretty funny story

This is a pretty funny story

Milwaukee -- Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Randall Simon was questioned by sheriff's officers after hitting one of the Milwaukee Brewers' racing sausages with a bat during Wednesday night's game.

Four people in sausage costumes race around the bases between the sixth and seventh innings at Brewers games as part of the entertainment for the fans.

Film of Wednesday night's race showed that when the group went past the Pirates dugout, Simon swung a bat at the Italian sausage character -- portrayed by a 20-year-old South Milwaukee woman -- causing her to fall to the ground. As she fell, a nearby sausage also went down.

"They were doing the sausage race. He hit her with the baseball bat," said Deputy Inspector Sherry Warichak of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department, which provides security at Brewers games. "When he hit her, that other character fell.

"They both were treated at the scene for scraped knees, but at this point I don't think they have any other complaints," she said.

Warichak declined to release the names of the women, who were interviewed at the stadium.

Simon pinch hit in the seventh inning and grounded out.

Milwaukee won the game 2-1 in 12 innings.

Now lets say the blow cause one to fall and break a arm. The one that fell on top blows out a knee. Then would it be funny. Have you seen the replay he did more then just alittle swing. This guy is a idiot. It's dumb stuff like this that can cost a player there career.

Easy, djv. I said the story was funny. First of all, you have a sausage race, then the quote from the sheriff's department sounds pretty Mayberry, then at the end they make sure to report the final outcome of the game.

I swear sometimes I feel like you have a corn cob stuck right up your ass.

LOL- sorry DJV, that was pretty funny.

Also funny was the part in the story where they say, 'and as she fell, a nearby sausage also went down'....

Could have been worse. At least dawgball used corn cob instead of sausage.

I have decided to take a stronger stance on this. Anyone who thinks Simon should be criminally charged or fined is out of their f**king mind. It is people like you that is making this country sue-crazy. Get a grip!

Now, on to another funny poll from the Atlanta Journal Constitution:

It's nice to see people in this world laughing again. I am very glad that the girls did not get hurt. Now that we know they are not, we need to let out a sigh and a chuckle.:moon:
