I really hope this is a joke....

It was suggested in an article I read. I think it would serve him right, why does he think he can keep cheating? He must think there are no consequences for cheating in the NFL.

So, no, it wasn't a joke. I hardly doubt it would happen but I'm sure there are a shitpile of people that would like to see it happen.

"If Mort's report is on target, and I'm sure it is, Belichick should be suspended from the Super Bowl. My opinion," Kravitz tweeted late Tuesday. "This is an integrity of the game issue and it's Belichick's second offense.

It's not a coincidence that 11 balls were deflated, come on. Gronk didn't spike 11 balls.

Brady scoffed on Monday about the investigation regarding deflated footballs, calling the suggestion that the Patriots deliberately let air out of the balls ?ridiculous.?

Is he lying? If he's lying, then what? No, I don't think the deflated balls changed the outcome of this particular game but it is breaking the rules.

Who's going to own up to the deflation?

What should the punishment be?

Brady said in 2011 he likes deflated footballs

The NFL has not yet concluded that the Patriots deliberately deflated footballs on Sunday against the Colts. But if they did, it meshes with the preferences of their quarterback.
Via CBS Connecticut, Tom Brady told WEEI in Boston more than three years ago that he likes deflated footballs.
?[W]hen Gronk scores ? it was like his eighth touchdown of the year ? he spikes the ball and he deflates the ball,? Brady said in November 2011. ?I love that, because I like the deflated ball. But I feel bad for that football, because he puts everything he can into those spikes.?
On that same radio station, Brady scoffed on Monday about the investigation regarding deflated footballs, calling the suggestion that the Patriots deliberately let air out of the balls ?ridiculous.?
Coincidentally, tight end Rob Gronkowski posted on Twitter after the controversy emerged a photo of him spiking the ball with the caption, ?Warning: Gronking may cause deflation.?
The message from Gronk: ?Oops.?

I think it would send a message

And if that message finally gets the pats to just play the game and best man wins....EVEN TERMS....then the suspension is worth it

It is a huge disservice to the players, that the coach allows these stupid cheater tricks to taint what they have accomplished .....

Just quit fucking doing it

I read that if this is true, the Pats would lose draft picks....

I think it's all speculation what they would lose if anything.

Some suggest a year suspension like Sean Payton took.

Whatever the fine is, this is another black eye for the NFL....

This has not been a good year for the league & the SB will have a cloud over it....

If all you lose is draft picks then I'm sure they're ok with that. "If" they meant to do it and it did help them win, then I'm sure most teams would trade a draft pick or two to play in the SB. If they did cheat then IMO they need to lose something that would hurt. Coach not coaching in the SB or next year would do that IMO.

I don't like the Pats, at all, but it really sucks for Brady because I do think he has a chance to be the best ever but this will be on his resume with the winning.

And it gets more interesting....

Brad Johnson paid a bribe to tamper with footballs at the Super Bowl

Posted by Michael David Smith on January 21, 2015, 9:15 AM EST

Former Buccaneers quarterback Brad Johnson has admitted to paying a bribe to have the footballs tampered with before the 2003 Super Bowl.

Johnson, whose Buccaneers beat the Raiders at Super Bowl XXXVII, said he paid $7,500 to some people he did not identify so that they would scuff the balls set to be used in the Super Bowl, making them easier to grip. According to Johnson, there were 100 footballs set aside for the game, and the people he bribed tampered with all 100, to Johnson?s specifications.

?I paid some guys off to get the balls right,? Johnson told the Tampa Bay Times. ?I went and got all 100 footballs, and they took care of all of them.?

That?s a shocking admission ? Johnson is confessing that he cheated to help his team win the Super Bowl, and that people who work for the NFL accepted a bribe to help one team cheat in the Super Bowl.

Jon Gruden, who coached the Buccaneers in that Super Bowl, said today on ESPN Radio that he was aware that Johnson was concerned about being able to grip the balls in that game, but Gruden did not say whether he was aware of Johnson breaking the rules to get an advantage.

Johnson?s comments will be big news this week, as the NFL investigates whether the Patriots violated NFL rules by tampering with the footballs in their AFC Championship Game win over the Colts. There is, however, one key difference: Johnson says he had all of the footballs tampered with, meaning that if the balls were easier for the Buccaneers to throw and catch, they were also easier for the Raiders to throw and catch. The Patriots are accused of deflating only the balls that they used on offense, giving them an edge over the Colts.

The NFL is already investigating whether the Patriots cheated. Now the NFL should broaden its investigation, find out who Johnson bribed, and make sure nothing like that ever happens again.

It may not have affected the outcome of the Colts game but it certainly could have provided enough edge to defeat the Ravens a week earlier. Yes, there is news that the Ravens suspected that balls were under-inflated.

I just read about the Ravens suspecting the balls under-inflated also....

I always thought that the league provided the balls for each game....

If it's proven that Bellichick intentionally cheated, it basically fucked up the whole season and could have affected the eventual outcome of who is playing in the Super Bowl.

This is a mess.

Did you see my previous post about Brad Johnson ?

If that is true then they have a much bigger mess than what the Pats did....

I don't even know where they would begin to go back over 10 years and investigate that one.

Somebody has some splainin to do. :0corn

How could Gruden not know about that?

MJ, serious question here. Why does it really matter if the balls were under inflated? Brady likes a ball that's not as hard, who cares. If someone had balls over inflated would people be upset? I'm being serious here, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. This didn't hurt the Colts, their balls had the same inflation they normally have.

And how about players from the Ravens & Colts that have incentives built into their contracts for reaching/winning the Super Bowl.....NFL put the hammer down on AP & Rice for non-football related issues....Now you have a team/coach messing with the integrity of the game.... interesting to see where this goes....:0corn

There must be a rule for a reason.

Brady doesn't like the official ball so he gets to customize it to suit himself?

What rules are they allowed to break and what rules are they not allowed to break?

Did they weigh the Colts footballs too? Just asking because physics could have something to do with it.
