100% agree with Big Daddy.... BB was a horrible in game coach. It was like the game was too fast for him ... or he thought too slow.....

Big question now is, who can Wisky get? I'd like to see a big name coach, not promoting from withing.

You need a big name for the recruiting trail... and the job is now a lot tougher than it used to be with Mr. Meyer in Columbus Ohio......

Big game coach. To Wisconsin ?

I'd love to have listened in on the Arkansas interview.

"So, Brett, tell us again about that gadget play you ran against Nebraska"

"The halfback dive?"

"Yes, yes! The halfback dive. How did you come up with that!"

I don't know BBC....why not?

It's not like Wisky is Notre Dame... Wisky has been a winner for many years (check the record over the past 10 for both programs). Notre Dame? This year, great, but past years????

Wisky since 1998 - 129 wins, 51 losses.. not too bad.... (for perspective, ND over that time 100 wins, 72 losses)

WI does have some built in advantages... huge WI farmboy type linemen for example. Great stadium and fan support. Our problem is always getting good skill athletes from other states. We certainly do well at RB... it is WR and QB that has historically been a tough fill.

Where's he going to find all those good lineman he had at Wisconsisn, not to mention the rushing defenses he will be going up against now. I'm not promoting him but am shocked he's leaving. Must be a lot bigger bucks?; if so I have to question Arkansas' reasoning. The winner may end up being Wisconsin.

Bielema

Wow, what was Arkansas thinking! Bielema took over a program that Barry Alvarez left stacked, including a great staff. They won early with the talent and asst. coaching, but it is vanishing, especially after coaches like Paul Chryst have left. I know they have been to the Rose Bowl three straight years, but they have been fortunate to get there for one reason or another, like this year when they were the third best team in their division in a bad Big Ten. He will not be able to compete with the SEC recruiters, especially in key states like Texas and Louisiana. At Wisconsin he could get big cheese eatin linemen and they ran the ball. That philosophy will not cut it down there. Bad hire!

Wow! That is a great job. I wonder why he left.

Hazel to Wisky would be a good choice, he knows how to recruit, call offensive plays and turned around a horrible program quickly and featured two 1,000 plus yard rushers for a program that couldn't get past the 50 yd line a year ago. Archer can fly and Durham was a beast, much like former Pitt Panther and Saint big man, Iron Head Heyward, rest his soul!

But Barry will bring in someone the Board of Directors wants after he throws 2 names on the board.

XMAS comes early for Bucky nation. Bieliema is NOT a big game coach. Loss to TCU in Rose Bowl couple years ago still has Badger fans pissed. WISKY will be fine as AD Barry Alvarez will bring in someone better to coach and recruit to a program he built in the 90's.

I disagree Good coach -great recruiter.- Would agree if it was a couple years but not a decade. With 3 straight bcs games- I can think of alot of big games he won as a dog resume is impressive. He also is clean as a whistle. ARK went after a sec coach- RUN RUN RUN with a great d that can recruit - HE FITS THE BILL-Great HIRE

Thanks for the hope Thunder. I am in Fayetteville, and I trust your judgment. People here at Arkansas need to realize we are not a big name program, and the best coach we will ever have for a while "fuked" it up. Pun intended!!! I hope it is OK as it can't get much worse than 2012 here.

Agree, all the guy does is win up there and someone has been recruiting great O line, D line and running backs. There are better game coaches (Urban, Saban etc) but you could say that about anyone. Hell, Lloyd fricking Carr kept his job at Michigan for 10 years. My theory is that he and Barry must not have been getting along cause there is nothing wrong with Wisky program.
