Being in Wisconsin can't say i'm real disappointed.
Big game coach. To Wisconsin ?
I'd love to have listened in on the Arkansas interview.
"So, Brett, tell us again about that gadget play you ran against Nebraska"
"The halfback dive?"
"Yes, yes! The halfback dive. How did you come up with that!"
Wow, what was Arkansas thinking! Bielema took over a program that Barry Alvarez left stacked, including a great staff. They won early with the talent and asst. coaching, but it is vanishing, especially after coaches like Paul Chryst have left. I know they have been to the Rose Bowl three straight years, but they have been fortunate to get there for one reason or another, like this year when they were the third best team in their division in a bad Big Ten. He will not be able to compete with the SEC recruiters, especially in key states like Texas and Louisiana. At Wisconsin he could get big cheese eatin linemen and they ran the ball. That philosophy will not cut it down there. Bad hire!
is there anyone who thinks bielema was a good coach?
I don't know BBC....why not?
It's not like Wisky is Notre Dame... Wisky has been a winner for many years (check the record over the past 10 for both programs). Notre Dame? This year, great, but past years????
Wisky since 1998 - 129 wins, 51 losses.. not too bad.... (for perspective, ND over that time 100 wins, 72 losses)
WI does have some built in advantages... huge WI farmboy type linemen for example. Great stadium and fan support. Our problem is always getting good skill athletes from other states. We certainly do well at RB... it is WR and QB that has historically been a tough fill.
I disagree Good coach -great recruiter.- Would agree if it was a couple years but not a decade. With 3 straight bcs games- I can think of alot of big games he won as a dog resume is impressive. He also is clean as a whistle. ARK went after a sec coach- RUN RUN RUN with a great d that can recruit - HE FITS THE BILL-Great HIRE
