Manchin refuses to vote for the 3.5 trillion dollar social justice give a way. The one Biden and Pelosi claim will not cost any money.
Thank goodness for the Blue Dog Democrat.

For over ten years, we've been listening to the leaders of the different parties talk about the need to upgrade, repair, and/or replace our infrastructure but nobody could come up with a way to pay for it. Biden comes up with a 10 year plan and a way to pay for it. Can't get a Republican to back it. Eventually, one of these bridges will fail and lives will be lost. We'll shell out billions to cover the lawsuits and billions to fix it, then we'll throw trillions behind the program to keep it from happening again. The Dems will say I told you so and the Republicans will say the plan wasn't good enough.

As with all this stuff, one party has a plan they can't pass because the other chooses to do nothing (that's called Conservative nowadays). Reversing tax cuts that did not pay for themselves as claimed plus creating thousands of jobs could help pay for this but the butthurt party would rather focus on Dr Seuss, the War on Christmas, Mr PotatoHead, CRT and all the other culture war bullshit that means jack shit.

The bill would pass if it were 100 percent to be used for infrastructure. First bill was only 8 percent and the second 23 percent for infrastructure. Estimates are the final tab would be 8.5 trillion. Pentagon would get about 80 billion more than they asked for but that would make up for the 85 billion in weapons that were left in Afghanistan.
Dem lobbyists and family members would get richer. Biden?s brother and son, Feinstein?s husband and Pelosi?s husband are just a few that would benefit just like always. Page 169 of the bill had a little provision that was added at the last minute. Dems are good at doing this. The Fed can bankrupt any business that does not comply w Biden?s vaccine mandate. They can charge a 700k fine for employee that doesn?t comply. In June they fined a chemical plant in Pa or WV 12k for a fire that killed 1 employee and injured others. This would be 59 times greater. No wonder the bill won?t pass. Dems are never happy unless they can bait and switch. This was never an infrastructure bill.

Always excuses, always new conspiracy theories.....that's what the Republicans are good at.

Here's a link to the bill's detail.

That the 8 percent to 23 percent. No mention of the other 77-92 percent . Love the vehicle tax per mile driven. We need to help pay for the 10 billion or more for electric postal trucks. Might as well get good mileage and be a good steward while you are losing billions each year. Why not raise the cost of stamps to 5.00 and let anyone making less than 50k mail for free.
