I need some advice here... I recently let my car insurance lapse because they where raising my rates ALOT because my wife had a speeding ticket so i wanted to shop around for another company. Well guess what happens right after that my daughter takes the car to school and runs it into a guardrail and messes up the front end and can barely steer it now.I am thinking it will be totalled, what should i do get another insurance company and wait a month or 2 then make a claim because i still owe 4 years on it.

I really am in a mess so what should i do here???

Well what you are talking about is very unethical, but yes you should.. I can't believe you let this happen assuming your daughter is young driving without insurance  Besides that yes, but if there was a police report made about this you are kind of fucked... I dinged up a beater truck, it was just my boat puller and winter snow getter. Truck only worth 1000 dollars. Well I crashed on some ice and called the police just so I wouldn't get hit in the back end.. Nobody else involved and i never claimed it on insurance.. Pieced the parts together by myself.. Tried to price Geico or Progressive a year later and the rate they gave me was high and when I inquired as to why they use the police report against me.. i was like fuk that because I never claimed it but it was on my driving record.. WTF. Now my local Am Fam didn't have that on my record so I stayed with them. So maybe a local insurance may not or may have it on record..

Yeah, screw the rest of us for your mistake. It's the American way. With the money you save, you at an ethics class at the local community college.

you will never get away with doing that and could wind up in prison for insurance fraud. They take it serious these days.

Get the car fixed and suck it up.

do the right thing.

and make sure you have insurance before you drive the cars you own.

Because of the economy, more and more fradulent claims are being submitted to insurance carriers. As KOD suggests, this claim will be sniffed out immediately and denied.

Funny how people love to rail against the insurance comapnies but have no problem trying to get them to pay claims they don't owe.

I agree with what everyone else said, Insurance Fraud is serious business and they will hammer you in the courtroom to make an example out of you. Don't think about that anymore!

My guess is the $3 or 4K that you seek is not probably not worth the effect that it would have on your daughter were you to be carted off to prison.

Well yes I agree to that,, I just think don't understand why you dont have insurance when you have a daughter driving a 16K vehicle.. Oh well I'm sure he has been kicking himself in the ass. If the police have already been involved then like I said you are fucked.

They would given some $$ "back" to you if coverage was in force but you made the decision to go without coverage. Why should they pay for your mistake?
