Radical Islam winning clash of civilizations

Among the most significant lesson I?ve learned since then: Terrorism is not the core problem. It is merely the weapon of choice for some of the regimes, movements and ideologies that are waging a war against democratic societies.
The terrorists regard themselves as ?jihadis? - heroic Islamic warriors and conquerors. They see their enemies as ?infidels? - enemies of Allah.

Their goal is to defeat the West, and to restore to Muslims the power and glory they enjoyed in the past and which they are confident they are destined to enjoy again.
What a convenient and typically neoconservative explanation for terrorism. No wonder DTB took the bait.

"Neoconservative logic" (an oxymoron) would have us believe that our actions in the Middle-East, particularly over the past two decades, play no part in the upswing in terrorism during that time. This neocon wants us to believe that 80 million Muslims have decided that they want what we've got and their terrorist acts are just their "weapon of choice" for waging their holy war on democratic societies.

If America accepts the ridiculous notion that 80 million Muslims have declared a holy war on us for religious reasons rather than economic and political reasons, then our fate is sealed. We'll be at war in the Middle-East until the end of time and neoconservative rhetoric will have prevailed.

When the goal is to feed the military-industrial complex, any excise will do.

Remember the neocon motto -

"If we don't fight and defeat the commies in Viet Nam, they will take over the earth and kill us all"?

We flushed 55,000 young Americans down that neocon toilet and lost the war. Did the commies take over the earth?

One load of BS after another, the neocons will always find something to frighten the ignorant into borrowing and spending to kill brown or yellow people.

Excellent points, as always Duff.

Speaking of ignorant, DTB still believes the only reason the Vietnam war was lost was because the "pinkies" undermined the war effort.

Enjoy a Sunday morning chuckle while you ponder that one Duff...

Under a mask.
Maybe I missed it. Did anyone tell him that he COULDN'T do it, other than the local authority, twice, when he applied for the permit to do it? Or has everyone (that I know of) said that he had the right to do it, but that they thought it was a bad idea for various reasons?

Seems to me, that is all that really matters. It's a good example of our democracy - he has the right (although I think that's arguable from religious incitement reasons that are discussed in the constitution I believe) to do it, but we (and our leaders) can find fault with him for doing it, which is our/their right.

The Supreme Court has also recognized that the government may prohibit some speech that may cause a breach of the peace or cause violence. I think it's avoiding reality if a person thinks burning a bunch of Korans would not cause violence or a breach of the peace eventually. Seems to me, this would be a possible disallowance of this particular brand of free speech, especially considering the dangerous situation our country is in.

Chad,
I haven't researched it,but it wouldn't surprise me if in fact the Muslim religion was actually first as far as a practiced religion.

Actually, there are somewhat more than one billion (1,000,000,000) Muslims on earth. If they were all terrorists, in fact if just 1/10 of one percent (1,000,0000) of them were terrorists, the entire earth would be on fire.

But it is not.

There are more terrorists in the red states than there are in all of Islam.

Here's the gravesite of one of those filthy America-hating Muslims.

It should go without saying: Most of the world?s Muslims are not participating in this struggle, are not eager for bloodshed and do not want to live under clerical dictatorships. But if, as has been conservatively estimated, only 7 percent of the world?s Muslims support Jihadism and/or Islamism, that?s more than 80 million people - a formidable force backed by enormous oil wealth. By contrast, Islamic reformers and peacemakers are isolated, targeted and without substantial resources.
Duff... The 80 million figure I used was in reference to the statement above. The figure I've read most often is that worldwide, there are approx. 1.2 billion Muslims. Of course, I have no idea where this guy got the 7% figure he's quoting.
