Oregon -155 (vs. Oregon St.) for 1/2 unit ? No named starters but if I had to guess, it would be the same guys that started two weeks ago for these 2 when they played. That is Taylor Starr for the Beavers who had a great game going 7IP giving up 1 ER and notching 7 K?s. Jordan Spencer for the Ducks had a rough go of it that game giving up 4 ER in 2 IP. Spencer does have a no-hitter to his credit this season and bounced back nicely as he had a good outing last week versus Gonzaga. Outside of the starters, Oregon?s bullpen is better in my opinion. Offensively and defensively the teams are pretty close but I just feel Oregon is the better overall club and will show it in the second non-conference game between these two at home tonight.

i was away for sat and sund but was able to ride oregon st both day against stanford for big plus money. I actually played oregon during that last mid week game with the starter throwing a no hitter last time out..prolly going to sit this one out. Should be a line on ECU/UNC tomorrow that might be worth looking at.
On another note... Mr. Poon, do u have any idea what happened to Adam McCreery for Ariz St...we talked about him earlier this season he had 2 starts giving up no ERs but hasnt pitched since. Also...i bet you enjoyed that Purdue 9th the other night...i almost played them too but layed off.

There never was much chance that Arizona State would mail in this non-post baseball season.
The program is too storied and has been too good since 2003, averaging 46 wins including those vacated in 2007, to fall apart for lack of one NCAA Tournament opportunity. With almost 40 percent of its schedule remaining, No. 21 ASU is within one game of conference-leading Arizona, UCLA and Oregon (see standings below). ASU's six Pac-12 losses are by a combined eight runs.
The Sun Devils cannot officially win the Pac-12 due to their NCAA probation but all along have made it their goal to be atop the standings when the regular season ends, fittingly, with a series at Arizona on May 25-27.
"It's a resilient bunch that's starting to figure out who they are," ASU coach Tim Esmay. "You're seeing guys that are comfortable in their own skin, and that's great thing.
"Our kids have done a great job of getting knocked down (3-6 Pac-12 start) and getting back up and staying committed to the process and how we do things. I know this team is OK just the way they look after a tough loss or when we challenge them and they have to make adjustments. They practice hard and show signs they care. They want to represent Arizona State. It's nice to see that because there have been trials and tribulations like any year. These guys have been willing to not just throw it away because they're not allowed to go grab the carrot at the end. That tells you they have the passion of playing this game and playing it well here."
Because of arm soreness sidelining Adam McCreery for all but two starts, ASU is one starting pitcher short, which shows up in mid-week games like a 15-6 loss at New Mexico eight days ago. But there are only two non-weekend games remaining - tonight and May 16 vs. Arizona - and Alex Blackford is coming off his best outing in a 3-1 win vs. New Mexico at the right time to potentially start those non-conference rivalry meetings.
Senior Abe Ruiz and juniors Brady Rodgers, Joey DeMichele, Deven Marrero, Jake Barrett and Andrew Aplin are pulling their weight as leaders for an otherwise young team..
Baseball America rates Marrero No. 13 and Barrett No. 52 in its mid-season top 60 major league draft prospects. Rodgers (6-1, 1.12 ERA, 55 strikeouts, 7 walks in 72 innings) has to be soaring as a draft stock since he's having a Mike Leake-type season.
Of the 22 signees in ASU's highly rated recruiting class, catcher Clint Coulter of Camas, Wash., is highest rated by Baseball America at No. 49.
Esmay said his veterans are playing more relaxed now that the younger players are making a more consistent contribution.
"They're just back to playing who they are and understanding it's good enough," Esmay said. "Every at- bat doesn't have to be a three-run homer or big hit for us to win. Now those other guys are doing some things here and there, it really makes it easy that you don't feel you have to do that. Now you can just kind of be yourself."
Thanks for the info Shawn!!! Might as well not take any chances with the kid and save him for next year when they arent banned from the post season.
