YTD Record: 14-18 for -1.57 units

S. Carolina +150 (vs. Florida) for 1/2 unit ? Great series this weekend in a rematch of last year?s CWS final. Tough to go against the #1 Gators, but this will be about the only time you see Michael Roth at a dog price. Gators are living up to their lofty pre-season expectations with a 20-1 record and riding an 18-game winning streak. Of the two starters thus far this season Roth has been better than his counterpart from Florida Hudson Randall. Randall knows how to pitch in big games and did well in his 2 outings vs. the Gamecocks last year, so I expect a close game regardless. Just hard to go against the 2-time defending champs at home, even if they are slumping a bit.

Have you found any other book besides 5 Dimes that offers NCAA Baseball lines that allows U.S. residents to bet?

For Tuesday:

ASU -160 (vs. Fullerton) for 2 units ? Sun Devils have performed decent so far this year despite having nothing to play for (post-season ban). Fullerton has performed above expectations which is saying something consider the brutal schedule they have played. Despite that, pitching is where the Titans are weak and I expect it to show tonight just as it has in recent mid-week losses vs. USC and Wazzou. No starting pitchers have been announced, but ASU has more depth here and I believe it will show in the 2 game series.

FSU +155 (vs. Florida) for 1/2 unit ? Gators won the series 2-1 vs. the defending champs S. Carolina like I thought. Still think they are a great team, just that FSU is a really good squad and are worth a shot at a dog price like this.

ASU Baseball to renew rivalry with Cal State Fullerton

Fresh off a series win against California in its first Pac-12 home stand, the ASU baseball team plays host to Cal State Fullerton for a two-game set beginning Tuesday at Packard Stadium.

Though the contests against the Titans (15-8) will give the Sun Devils (15-8, 3-3 Pac-12) a brief respite from Pac-12 play before they travel to Oregon this weekend, Big West conference member Fullerton will be far from a cakewalk for ASU.

?They?re like playing a (Pac-12) team, and I like to play them as much as we can because they are going to provide us with an idea of how (Pac-12) baseball plays,? coach Tim Esmay said. ?They?re going to hold runners really well, they?re not going to just let you run. They?re going to pitch out of some innings, and they?re going to try to make some innings.?

Esmay explained that the two schools have developed a ?good, respectful rivalry? over the years and that he expects the Titans to arrive in Tempe ready to play ball. Fullerton is led by junior first baseman Carlos Lopez (.357, eight doubles, 12 RBI) and sophomore outfielder Michael Lorenzen (.337, eight doubles, 12 RBI).

On their own side of things, the Sun Devils know that focus and mental conditioning will result in success during both this midweek series and in the long run.

?It?s a matter of just staying within ourselves and doing what we do best, which is grind everybody out,? shortstop Deven Marrero said. ?We?re the best team in the (Pac-12), hands down, so we?re going to act like that and we?re going to play like that.?

Esmay and Marrero expressed the team?s growing confidence in the box, as well as how that confidence is continuing to translate to quality at bats by the Sun Devils? hitters.

?Another big part of (Sunday?s win against Cal) was that if you look at the guys that gave us great at bats, it was the guys that believe in this team and their own abilities,? Esmay said.

The midweek series will also serve to cement the jobs of certain players on the ASU roster, as it?s important for each member of the squad to understand his specific duty on the team.

?We?re getting to a point now where guys are starting to settle into some roles,? Esmay said. ?They have a good idea of when we?re going to use them.?

Additionally, the showdown versus the Titans will figure to provide a good measuring stick for a few of the untested ASU arms.

?It?s a great opportunity for some of those guys that haven?t been given the ball quite a bit because, for them, this is our practice,? Esmay said. ?I?m looking forward to getting some guys some innings and seeing where they?re at.?

The ASU coaching staff isn?t simply interested in making personnel decisions, however, as Esmay and company want to see their squad push the tempo of the game even more and force Fullerton to play on its heels.

?Sun Devil baseball isn?t about hoping for things to happen,? Esmay said. ?We have to make things happen. Sometimes, you?ve got to create your own stuff.?

First pitch for both games is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Redshirt sophomore Zak Miller is on the bump for ASU on Tuesday, with the team?s Wednesday starter still to be announced.

For Wednesday:

ASU -170 (vs. Fullerton) for 1 unit - Though last night's game was close, just think the Sun Devils have the deeper pitching staff which will really come through today.

Coastal +155 (@ UNC) for 1/2 unit - similar to the FSU play yesterday, UNC is the better team on paper, but just taking a shot at a pretty sound club. Coastal is throwing a frosh who has pitched well in his only two starts, despite not going deep in the game.

Coastal is a SOLID play...UNC pitching a garbarge, Cody Penny, a junior who is making 1st career start...longest outing in his career is 3 innings...this year he has an 8.31 ERA and only pitched 4.1 innings giving up 7 hits including 1hr...Def a staff day for UNC. The biggest thing i like about coastal's starter is he is a lefty...UNC has a lefty dominated line up and bats have been cold of late. Also UNC's best hitter is out due to a broken hand against NC State this past wknd. UNC had their two best closers pitch significant innings on Monday so they probably will not pitch at all today. Lots of value on coastal...i locked in early at +175

ASU has a history of not naming their starter if the other team isn't going to. I would expect McCreery (the frosh you mentioned) or Blackford to start for them. McCreery has the tools to be another great pitcher for them. Blackford hasn't had great command in his outings this year but was real solid for ASU last year.

The first pitch for game two of the series is Wednesday at Packard Stadium. Junior righty Billy Young will start for ASU and freshman righty J.D. Davis will be on the bump for the Titans.

This was actually on the ASU website yesterday, pitching matchups for all games except who they are throwing tonight...Didnt play ASU bc of Miller pitching, actually was on cal State. That was a crazy game...Cal St player gets called out on a triple for missing 1st base. Cal just couldnt get runners across the plate with Miller in and couldnt get a hit with him out.

Pitching Matchup:
Tuesday:
ASU - RHP Zak Miller
Cal St. Fullerton - Koby Gauna
Wednesday:
ASU - TBA
Cal St. Fullerton - J.D. Davis
Friday:
ASU - RHP Brady Rodgers
Oregon - RHP Alex Keudell
Saturday:
ASU - RHP Trevor Williams
Oregon - RHP Jake Reed
Sunday:
ASU - RHP Darin Gillies
Oregon - RHP Brando Tessar

Thanks as always IE.

ASU was very fortunate for the double plays and being able to prevent any of those 7 hits from becoming runs. The triple that was called out on appeal was actually a Sun Devil player.

The game will be broadcasted online at foxsportsarizona.com if you weren't aware.

nice...thanks for the link...Im assuming it will be broadcast on the fox sports ariz station too which i have on directv. I read the re-cap wrong on that triple. I was having to keep an eye on it using game tracker last night. UNC/Coastal will be on ESPN 3 tonight if you have access to it.

No, it will only be online it seems. I thought the same thing last night, but I think on the tube they were carrying the Suns game.

looked at JD too...looks like he has really struggled to date this season. Cal State has also been shut out last 2 games so their bats are extemely cold. Coastal back up to +180 on 5 dimes...went ahead and took advantage of that value and put some more on them.

bad night going 0-2, especially Coastal that had a 2 run lead in the 9th and gave up a 2-run Homerun w/ 2 outs and then lost in extras.

Updated Record: 16-21 for -1.52 units
