in case anybody is interested this is my play for today....

under 55 wyom / fresno st....

wyoming has a terrible offense....they rank around the bottom in all offensive categories nationwide.....on the other side of the ball fresno st's weakness is rushing defense....

on defense, wyoming allows a little over 21 ppg on the road & after hearing about how they don't belong in a bowl game, i think that the wyoming defense will play inspired ball & slow the fresno st. offense down somewhat....

play under - any team against the total (both teams apply) - in a bowl game, in a non-conference game between two teams from second tier division 1-a conferences.....

over the last 10 seasons the record for this system is....34-8....81%....

the average total posted in these games was....55.9....the average total points scoreed in these games was....45.3....the number of games in which this system covered the total by 7 or more points was 26....65% of all games.....

here are a few more comments about this game....

while boise has the #1 scoring offense (44 ppg) in the nation,it was against a weak schedule & haven't faced a dominating defense like tcu has that is led by de jerry hughes....this year tcu has the nation's #1 defense in total yards allowed, they are # 4 in pass defense, & #2 in rush defense....

as i mentioned in my previous post that unlike past years, tcu can score this year as they averaged about 40 ppg & they feature a balanced offense as they average 256 ypg on the ground & 217 yds. through the air....they completely dominated byu 38-7 & utah 55-28 & had a solid road win at clemson in which they held them to a little over 300 total yards....

while boise has a solid pass defense, their run defense is ranked #49 against a sub-par schedule....their top 3 wac opponents, nevada, fresno, & idaho rushed for a combined 771 yds. at about 6 ypc....

i think tcu is as good as bama, texas, & tcu & think they will make a statement in this game & expose boise as just a good team....

Good write-up. Yes, line moved to 8 then back to 7 where I think it will stay. TCU's offense is the key here this year. Coach Patterson has said over and over he's playing for the AP NC. This will not be a 1 pt victory this year. He is determined to show the nation that TCU is an elite team that deserves to play for a NC. Boise St will not rollover by any means. However, this year's Defense is even better than last year's team and Boise St will not be able to get out to the quick start they had last year.

Also today, Wyoming plays good for a half always. So, I'm taking them for the first half +6 at 2 units.

I tell you one thing. I learned a hard lesson when Florida played Michigan in the bowl game with Chad Henne as QB.

Florida didnt give two shits about winning that game. Chad Henne passed up and down the field until I got seasick.

they have no incentive to win that game. They are not going to be Nat champs. They got a ton of people leaving for draft.

Cinncinatti might be some motivated SOB trying to win for the replacement coach if they like him

That game was actually one of my biggest bailout games ever. I put my entire acct on Michigan after getting murdured, losing about 85% of my first 15 bowl plays. I looked at the game and thought Michigan was going to get killed , so decided to put it all on Michigan. Pretty much faded myself, then was biting my nails like a junky watching this game in the basement of my ex's parents house, freezing cold in Boston w/ no heat down there. Got back to even for the bowls on that hit!

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Former Fresno State defensive coordinator Dan Brown died nine months ago, but the legacy of the longtime Bulldogs assistant has provided new inspiration for the team's return trip to the New Mexico Bowl.
A number of stories cement Brown's place in the program's lore as a tough, dedicated coach concerned about more than just his player's on-field performance.

One of them is a small detail from the final game of his 12-year tenure with the Bulldogs. Before the 2008 New Mexico Bowl, team spokesman Steve Weakland recalled, Brown needed intravenous treatment so he would have the strength to get up to his perch in the University Stadium press box, from which he would help call the defensive plays.

There still was no sign of quit in the coach, who fought brain cancer for nearly two years before succumbing to the disease in March.

The Bulldogs lost that game, so by their way of thinking, they still have a game to win for Brown and hope to do so when Fresno State (8-4) faces Wyoming (6-6) at 1:30 p.m. today.

"I was telling the team that this was [the site of] Danny's last game and we did not finish it," said Fresno State coach Pat Hill, a close friend of Brown's. "He took [the loss] really, really hard. We dedicated the season to him and we'd like to finish it strong."

Senior running back Lonyae Miller said he'll be giving his all today for Brown's memory.
"That's what I'm doing it for and I'm sure that's what everyone else on the team is doing it for," he said. "This is a huge game for us, and I know it's going to be a huge game for [Brown] because I know he's going to be up there watching us."

The seniors will also be motivated to perform because they don't want to end their Fresno State careers with a loss as the 2008 senior class did. "You always remember -- 50 or 30 years down the road -- the last game you played," senior receiver Seyi Ajirotutu said. "I want that to be a good memory."

A key to the Bulldogs looking back fondly on this game will be how their defense contains the Cowboys' option attack.

Freshman quarterback Austyn Carta-Samuels said the Cowboys use a read option on 60% to 70% of their running plays.

He is second on the team in carries with 123 for 295 yards. Running back Alvester Alexander has run 124 times for 503 yards while receiver Brandon Stewart has rushed 105 times for 470.
Reserve quarterback Robert Benjamin is "a little niftier running," Wyoming first-year head coach Dave Christensen said. Benjamin has run 30 times for 118 yards.

The Bulldogs expect the option, mostly because it's what has hurt them in the past. Just two weeks ago, Illinois ran for 331 yards using many option runs. Running back Mikel Leshoure accounted for 184 yards and two touchdowns on just 11 carries.

"We have to stop this option and we'll be good," said senior safety Moses Harris.

Harris said it's not the opposing players that make the option dangerous but the scheme itself.
"The dive option is a little complex to stop, and if you don't have the right package, personnel doesn't really matter," he said. "It doesn't matter if you have an offensive lineman running the ball."
Harris said he and his teammates want to use this game as a statement for the future generation of Fresno State defensive players.

"We can stop the conventional run, that's not been a problem," Harris said. "Our problem's with the option game. ... We need to send the message for next season for the younger players that, hey, we can stop this."

If they complete their goal, perhaps no one would be more pleased than their late defensive coordinator.

was at a christmas party last night so i didn't watch last night's game, but read at the different forums that the under play was a tough loss....

am in the worst capping slump in sometime, so i decided to go for a middle again in tonight's game since i wasn't in love with the calif. play that much anyway....just played it a few minutes ago since i am starting to see that some books have 2.5....
