sounds pretty fun. I'm going to try to learn how to trap some dry land critters this winter since I have no ocean around here.

 wouldn't even know what that is. Can you not get bourbon up there? I'm pretty ignorant about a alcohol/mixology/drinking, lol!

Bad, you look like a drinker. Ya just got that look.:SIB

Sponge, that's another thread...:142smilie Beers in the background were Jeff's, pic was taken early in the morning of 'mini season'

Capt Jeff is going out tomorrow to scope a few places out, sunken trash (refrigs/ovens washed away) where they like to hide out during the day. They feed at night and should be around the appliances when we go out.

Since we didn't 'limit out' 6 each in mini season... a group of guys we know are going to have a 'pool' on our catch...:mj07: ...12 entries zero through 12...(12 is the max for the 2 of us) kind of like a World Series pool 0-9, only 12 numbers.

I'm pumped!!! We'll limit out.........and if I can't post the pics...I'll send them to Jack again.

Going to that other thread...something about brews.......:toast:

You can dive, snorkel, commercial fishermen trap...we're bully netting...they come out at night...

Imagine a dip net with a 10 ft pole and the dip net is bent at a 90 degree angle to the pole...we 'pole' the flats, shallow water, late at night with the outboard trimmed up...

A lightbulb rigged up on PVC pipe connected to an extra (car) battery on board in the water, less glare than a spotlight. We're in 2 to 5 ft water, sometimes less, thus the 'pole'....

One guy 'poling' (pushing the boat with a long arse pole) and the other guy on the bow of the boat, where the light is, netting the lobster. The guy poling has a better view as he is up on a stand, back of the boat.

It's amazing how much light that bulb puts out in the water and the light from the moon...:mj03: Think we just had a full moon, THAT FOR SHOULD, should be good!

Recreational Fishing Lic...limit 6 per day how ever you catch them, no spearing....Commercial...250 per day bully netting....and they pay $$$$$ for commercial permits

We're doing the bully netting.

Above the Clouds....
Hey Bad you said the other nite about the # of deaths. How do they die, can't be drowning in only 3-5 feet of water can it? I know you can drown in an inch of water but......?

only one this year in 'mini season' , in The Keys, diver had a heart attack...5 last year 4 the year before...

State estimates 60% of lobster fishing in FL is in the Keys, higher bag limits on the mainland, to ease the pressure...

edit addition: Up & down divers for each lobster...run out of oxegyn or get the bends

Divers are in deeper waters with or without ' Dive Flags'

I thought that when you said running out of air or getting the bends. They are probably so involved with what their doing that they don't look at their dive computers. Dove in Mex. last year and didn't have a problem with the 50' dive but my son and his wife ran out of air on the 110'foot dive. Scary when your sucking the inside of a tank.
