Interesting take on it.
Curiously, do you follow the Batman storyline via the Comic Books or are the movies your primary indulgence with Batman?

I read the comics in the late 80's to early 90's.

While Bane is a force to be reckoned with and he severely injured batman to the point of paralysis, he still isn't the end all for me in this trilogy - if we are basing the movie on the comics. In the comics, Bane wasn't all that smart. Not like Joker.

Havent seen the movie yet but I will this weekend..

As far as ending the series with Joker instead of Bane I disagree.

Like I said I havent seen the movie yet by my guess is Bane fucks Batman up good like he did in the final comics.

Ending it with Joker would be better based on the strength of the movies. Not the comics and or storyline.

Bane beats up on Batman, but not good enough.

When you see the movie, let's talk about the ending.

In the comic book line, Bane was a super genius.

I agree, that they didn't do enough to showcase the superiority/development of Bane as the tremendously dangerous super villian that he was/is in keeping with the comicbook storyline.

had to be mighty hard to reflect any kind of superiorty other than strength thru that mouth garp..\

many remarks in the reviews across the country concerning the lack of development of character Bane..

I really believe is was to big a request to match the work in Dark Knight..

DK..set the bar extremely high in every facit of film making ..especially when we consider the subject matter and the targeted audience..

all in all...Rises is AWESOME and will shake the ground around your :0corn

agree. awesome movie.

And something to remember, this movie wasn't really about Bane and his abilities, this movie was about Batman and his storyline.
Bane was just a tool/prop/whatever needed to help advance and complete the story of Batman that was being portrayed.

Just got back from seeing it. Other than the jackass I had to tell off for pulling out his cell phone and having a conversation about two minutes into the film, I enjoyed the experience. I wish I lived near an IMAX theater though. If you live near one. you owe it to yourself to see this film in IMAX.

It was good, but not great. Not even in the same league as The Dark Knight, but I'd be blown way if any comic book movie comes close to The Dark Knight. I really liked the ending a lot.

One other note. It was so nice to actually have an attractive female in this one. Anne Hathaway is awesome. Christopher Nolan is an amazing filmmaker, but he sure needs some help picking female actors for his movies. Maggie Gyllenhaal is an okay actress, but she is not attractive. We won't even talk about the clown show he cast in the first one.

Yea, I was not a fan of Maggie G at all in the flick.

But, part of the reason she didn't seem to really fit well in the role was that she was picking up the same character already played by Katie Holmes, so she couldn't develop the character on her own.

Anne Hathaway - I think she absolutely rocked the house in her role and added just that perfect little something extra to make this movie be great.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that not only does she get the Supporting Actress oscar nomination, she'll be a favorite to win it. (unless hollywood finds another dumbass silent black and white movie to give awards to again this year)

<!-- #LS-100 ID is for Link Smart -->Holy smokes, Batman. The rumors, speculation and general chit-chat can be put to rest.

Christopher Nolan?s Batman epic The Dark Knight Rises will be released on Blu-ray combo pack, DVD, and digital download on Dec. 4, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Group announced exclusively to EW.

The last film in Nolan?s dark, gritty Gotham City trilogy, starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, and Tom Hardy as brutal villain Bane, will also be available in a limited edition Blu-ray Bat Cowl collectible package ? not quite in time for your Halloween costume, but there?s always next year.
The Blu-ray combo pack is stuffed with a bunch of extras, from a documentary about the Batmobile, where all five Batmobiles are together for the first time, to Ending the Knight, an in-depth look featuring about 17 featurettes at how Nolan and his production team made The Dark Knight Rises, from Batman vs. Bane to totally demolishing a city street. Both the Blu-ray and DVD include a featurette called The Journey of Bruce Wayne. There are also trailers and art galleries.

Check out these exclusive pics of the packaging and the cowl, below.
