Did anyone watch game 6 NBA Finals last night

:shrug: I watched my first NBA basketball game of the year last night and it was one of the best I have seen since the Jordan era. What a game, wow...of course the refs determined the game as usual...

can't wait for game 7 Thursday night...

One thing, to me, is certain and that is if Lebron played in the Jordan, Johnson, Bird, Barkley era he would be an average ball player at best. He has marginal ball handling skills, doesn't like physical play and an average shooter. He is a very strong guy with an extreme amount of athleticism but marginal player back in the day would have completely stymied him. Imagine an Anthony Mason leaning on him for forty eight minutes or a long armed Pippen ripping and stripping him every roll down the court. Just my opinion.

Officiating was a joke last night. San Antonio got mugged the last three times down the court and got not one call.

I want to believe this, cause I am not a huge Lebron fan, but I can't believe average players 20 years ago were better than ostensibly the best player today. What would explain the extreme decline in quality of NBA players that we see now vs 80's 90s?
Athleticism is up, like in the NFL we see guys bigger and faster than they used to be... the pool of players is much larger (getting the best from Europe and elsewhere) etc.

I would way way way rather watch that than an nba game but that's just me. tranny trampoline would probably pique my interest more. to me there is nothing less exciting than nba basketball except maybe college basketball. but to each their own.

and i agree that almost anything is on tv or at least an internet feed these days.

my outdoor midget asian amputee transvestite bowling league is working on exclusive rights with ladbrokes and sky sports right now. we should be sponsored for a january roll out date. IE is working with jack for madjack uniforms.

You have valid points/questions. I don't necessarily agree with FDC, but do think Lebron may not be as effective dropped back an era or two. However in my opinion its not due to him as much as it is that the game is reffed/called differently.

My main complaint with the OMAATBL is that their post season is single elimination format. Need to move to a double elimination or at least a best of 3 series for the semi-finals and finals. The interest is at an all-time high right now and you need to capitalize on that.

Yeah fundamentals seem gone. I have more fun watching the style of play you see in high school or college. The court just seems too SMALL for the guys that play on it in the NBA.

So if the theory is: teams from back then would win games against teams from 2013 if the officiating and rules were done on a 1980's level.

This can not be said enough. Just as you are working towards your deal and planning a big announcement, Serena Williams' comments from that intereview have to come out and tarnish all the good work that has been done.

I don't know that the physical nature of the players is that much different other than acceptance of taller players playing point guard or something like that. I do believe that the skill set has declined somewhat. Michael Jordan developed his turnaround fade away jumper later in his career and it became an unstoppable signature shot.
I think officiating and the game has changed. Far more touch fouls, flopping and things of that nature in my opinion.
