Jordan homers are funny..... Lebron, who ranks #1 in points scored in playoff close-out games, shut down Tony Parker in the 4th quarter, and willed his team to victory last night. Along the way, this man who would be shut down by Anthony Mason, collected double digit rebounds, blocked shots from off the ball, doling out 11 assists and scoring 32 points on 26 shots. Did I mention he played 50 minutes? This dude is a freak....

He is a player unlike any in history, and without question among the best of all time.

Lebron whines far less than Duncan and Parker imo. Hope this helps

Dude, on the play at the end of regulation where Lebron lost the ball out of bounds last night. They had to look at the replay to determine that he touched it last, he came down the paint, clearly elbowed the defender out of his way, got the ball knocked cleanly loose from his grip and he lost it out of bounds and immediately started crying to the ref. He should have been called for the offensive foul, yet the next two plays Parker got mugged and he didn't say a word to the refs.

Hope this helps,

Lebron and Duncan are notorious whiners. Calling out one and not the other is a possible indication of bias on your part.

Think about what you are saying. He shut down Tony Parker, wooooooooooo, not Tony Parker. That's like saying Jordan shut down Craig Ehlo, big deal. Not being a homer just being realistic. Jordan laid 63 during a playoff game on Boston, 55 on New York. There are countless performances by Jordan that far outweigh anything Lebron has done to date. That and scoring is up with the number of free throws now being attempted. I agree Lebron is a great player, he is no Michael Jordan and would be hard pressed to match even Pippen's level of play if the game was played in 96.

Hope that helps,

Tony Parker is one of the quickest penetrating guards in the NBA. The fact that a 6'9'' 270lb forward can stay in front of him is amazing imo. That he can dominate offensively at the same time is superhuman. jmo

They all whine bro, some are just more flamboyant about their whining. I am only looking at last nights game and that is what I observed. I don't watch much of the NBA anymore because of the nature of the players and the game. It just isn't interesting to me anymore. They take the first and third quarters off, sometimes the entire first half. They flop, they're lazy. Just an opinion as I have soured on the game as a whole not just on Lebron.

He is quick, yes, but a suspect shooter and an average passer. The same could have been said about Jason Terry, or any number of journeymen point guards like them. I don't think Lebron can stay with Chris Paul or Derrick Rose when healthy as he also received lots of help covering Parker. Remember, they can play zone defense now when they couldn't a few years ago. I think anyone that takes 40 something shots can dominate offensively.

I would way way way rather watch that than an nba game but that's just me. tranny trampoline would probably pique my interest more. to me there is nothing less exciting than nba basketball except maybe college basketball. but to each their own.

and i agree that almost anything is on tv or at least an internet feed these days.

my outdoor midget asian amputee transvestite bowling league is working on exclusive rights with ladbrokes and sky sports right now. we should be sponso

red for a january roll out date. IE is working with jack for madjack uniforms.

Parker earned his paycheck with that fukin' three pointer in the last min. pf the game and then followed it up with a 2 pointer.

Shit was clutch.

Yeah, that was a damn awesome couple of shots. Remember when John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Reggie Miller, and a thousand other players did it too. Just saying, when you get paid to perform at a high level I would think actually doing it shouldn't be so surprising.

The incessant whining from Lebron is so tiring it is almost embarrassing to watch.

One thing, to me, is certain and that is if Lebron played in the Jordan, Johnson, Bird, Barkley era he would be an average ball player at best. He has marginal ball handling skills, doesn't like physical play and an average shooter. He is a very strong guy with an extreme amount of athleticism but marginal player back in the day would have completely stymied him. Imagine an Anthony Mason leaning on him for forty eight minutes or a long armed Pippen ripping and stripping him every roll down the court. Just my opinion.

Officiating was a joke last night. San Antonio got mugged the last three times down the court and got not one call.

Hope this helps,
FDC

I think Lebron is a huge pussy, but he would have been awesome in any era.

Im certain Lebron would have been great in any era, but it would have been interesting to see him get pounded physically from Heat, Knicks, Pacers, and Pistons only to have the Jazz Trailblazers Rockets LA Seattle or Suns waiting for them in the Finals. Looking back, NBA was fun for me to watch.

i gotta agree with cie on james....i think the guy is an amazing athlete...at his size,he handles the ball at crunch time...can drive/shoot/block shots...seems like his stamina is off the charts....this monster is guarding the other team`s point guard?....incredible...

one thing i will say,though...i`m not sure that having james/bosh and wade on the same team works all that well...particularly james and wade...wade looks lost out there at times and imo,his talent is wasted on this team...but they`re so overwhelmingly talented, they`re still contenders every year....

agree with fdc about eras..not crazy about the modern nba......the bird/jordan era was unreal....as was the bill russell/wilt/clyde frazier/pearl monroe era...

//personal editorial omission of magic johnson(that i`m sure will rub some the wrong way..lol)....i just could never get past the fact that the guy got way more deference from refs than any player i ever watched....i used to cringe watching magic barrel down the lane walking and knocking guys down like bowling pins and either having the opposition get no call or blocking......the guy had carte blanche to do whatever he wanted out there...and he did it..

nice guy...good person...just never liked the favoritism(imo).....

btw...seems like travelling doesn`t get called much anymore...i saw several guys clearly take 3 full steps and the announcers never even mentioned it......

all just one dude`s opinion...

I don't know that the physical nature of the players is that much different other than acceptance of taller players playing point guard or something like that. I do believe that the skill set has declined somewhat. Michael Jordan developed his turnaround fade away jumper later in his career and it became an unstoppable signature shot.
I think officiating and the game has changed. Far more touch fouls, flopping and things of that nature in my opinion.

Reggie Miller admitted to the world that he flopped all the time during a broadcast of the Pacers/Heat series. He said something along the lines of its the refs job to call it and encouraged doing it if you can get away with it.

Players are stronger and faster now in the NBA. Comparing guys like LeBron to guys who played 20 years ago is stupid. LeBron is the greatest player in the world. It is a shame people can't enjoy the game without comparing him to MJ, Bird, Magic, whoever else. It always seems to be guys from that era who cant just let it go. Especially Bulls fans. Bulls fans are the most bitter people on the planet towards LeBron. They loved the guy when it was a strong possibility he could go to Chicago as a free agent. Now they hate him. Even more so because he wrecks their team in the playoffs every year, and even more on top of that when people compare him to MJ.

The breed of athlete now is far more advanced. This is indisputable. Training and what is now known about nutrition and everything else is FAR more advanced than it was 20 years ago.

You know what brother, nobody called anyone stupid and got even the least bit shitty towards anyone until your post. Keep it civil man. Nobody is stupid because they have an opinion. They are stupid when they think their's is the only one that matters.

Yes, I am comparing him to Jason Terry and Rondo, and many other point guards in the league that are journeyman players. Tony Parker is a good player, they have to be to start in the NBA, he is not an elite point guard. Do you have any idea how many clutch shots Steve Nash, Isaiah Thomas, John Stockton, Penny Hardaway, Tim Hardaway and others hit too? I don't think Terry is a spectacular player but he played well for Dallas in the playoffs and for some time. I am not saying he is better or even as good as Parker but he is in the same conversation, they're both journeymen. That's my opinion and for the record, Derrick Rose is a lazy piece of shit as far as I am concerned and has no place on the Bulls. I would rather he play somewhere else.

Hope this helps,
