also, another one of your "journeymen" in Rajon Rondo would be very comparable to Tim Hardaway.

and Deron Williams would be better than Isaiah Thomas.

your logic, not mine.

we could even compare Amare Stoudamire and Patrick Ewing and see as good of a comparison as Terry and Parker.

judging by this awesome logic one could make the comparison to Carmelo Anthony or Dwyane Wade being = to Larry Bird.

Tony Parker is a top 25 point guard of all time.

furthermore, Parker gets to the basket where as Terry is a guy who just looks for a shot from outside. Just look at how often they get to the free throw line. about 10% of Parkers shots come from beyond the line compared to over 30% for Terry.

Parker also led his team to 3 rings. there is a difference between winning a ring on the bench and being a key player orchestrating the championship.

for someone who takes so much pride in reminiscing of how great basketball was when MJ played, I have to question how much of the game you actually watch if you can compare Terry to Parker and consider them equals.

Look Portis, do you want to have a civil conversation about this or are you going to just keep being a dick about it. Fuck me man, it's a fucking conversation dude. I am not out to try to make you look foolish or tell you that you are incorrect, or level insults at you because we disagree or because I say so. So quit trying to do it to me. What the fuck? By my logic Carmelo would be comparable to whoever, give me a fucking break. I never even mentioned the fucking guy. I am not as enamored with the guy (Parker)as you are, so fucking what. So that makes me a bad guy, stupid, unintelligent, blind or a liar of some sort? Fuck me, get over yourself man. Last I checked ESPN hasn't had you on as their guest analyst so you are still just a fan, just like me. If you want to discuss it like men, cool, if not, let me know and I will bow out and let you pound your chest as if your opinion mattered more than mine. It doesn't. Let me know what you want to do bro, because I'm not going to sit here and try to trade insults over Tony fucking Parker.

Seriously, brother, lighten up man.

Hope this helps,

incredibly there are very few people out there who think Tony Parker is a journeyman.

#16 all time according to these guys

funny, Jason Terry is nowhere to be seen on anyones list....:mj07:

Dude, who gives a shit about where some rag ranks the players. Look at the stats. The same game, same era, same players, same rules and the numbers are undoubtedly comparable. Regardless of how Stephen A. Smith feels or Dan Patrick or Oprah, who gives a fuck, what makes them right or wrong? If San Antonio is a losing franchise you wouldn't even be talking about the guy in my opinion. He is a good player, top 25? Not in a million years. Are you implying that only twenty or so other players in history would have been able to effectively play that position and have SA win a championship? Chris Paul wouldn't get it done? They could have won with John Starks at the point. Not only that, the guy is point guard and he averages 3 lousy assists a game, John Stockton would laugh you out of the building if you tried to say he was top 25 at his position.

Vinny Del Negro doesn't get any props?

So wait how is Tony Parker equal to Jason Terry???

That is just insanity.

Parker has been an elite point guard for a long time now, Jason Terry was a solid guard but was NEVER on the same level as Parker.

I'm not a basketball fan but I do know this. You cannot have a conversation with airportis on any level. First off he's 26 years old and he works in a grocery store...............that should be enough said.

Actually, port and I have had a disagreement now and again but I still think he's a pretty solid poster and I have no problem with him in general . Everyone likes to think they are on the right side of every argument so no biggie.

My point is that they are both just good NBA players not great, just good. Their numbers are comparable and Parker has played on better teams. In my opinion, Terry would not be much of a drop off from Parker. Spurs would have still won the championship, but that is my opinion.

Having an opinion doesn't make you insane out stupid unless you are part of a herd. I'm not pat of any herd and stand by my statement. Einstein had an opinion too and I'm no Einstein.

I completely disagree..........he is a lost cause and very negative. There is no sense of humor in this poster at all.........I wish he would stay out of my threads........he brings nothing to the table.

They arent the same though, and I've already pointed that out. Parker doesnt spot up and shoot from outside like Terry. Parker has a vast skill set, he isn't one dimensional.

The guy also leads his international team in any Olympic or World event.....has Jason Terry ever even made an NBA all star team? No. His greatest accolade is 6th man of the year. So, to reflect, you are comparing Tony Parker, a guy who has led his team to 3 championships in 5 years, to a guy who was noted as being the best BENCH player in the NBA. right, got it.

and yes, with your Logic we can compare guys like Amare and Patrick Ewing.

also, with your logic, we can dismiss MJ as being great and chalk it up to the team he was on. I am sure if LeBron or a number of other players today were put in place of MJ on that team they would have had great success so MJ is just a journeyman really.

and Tony Parker is every bit of a top 25 point guard all time.

I do not even care about Tony Parker, or the Spurs, but comparing him to Jason Terry is one of the more ridiculous things I've ever heard.

Earlier today I was in my car and heard the commentator stating that Parker is most likely a hall of famer. I'm not saying he is nor do I even care. It just goes to show how crazy this conversation is.

Those are all accolades that go to an individual in a team sport. Who cares. He has been on better teams than Terry, but I do need to clear one thing up. I said I think they are on the same level. That can be a pretty wide blanket sometimes but I am not trying to say Terry is a great player either. I am not trying to raise his level of appreciation to meet the standards of the levels you personally have Parker on. I am saying that both are good but forgettable players and somewhat interchangeable. Their career stats matter much more than any awards or accolades. I think you could make the same argument about players the likes of Ron Harper, Stephon Marbury, Mike Bibby, Jason Williams, Jalen Rose, Dennis Johnson and all kinds of players that, during the time of their tenure, were considered good players then, too. Parker went 2 for 7 with Lebron guarding him. Great players don't have stats like that, good players do.

Yet you found the conversation compelling enough to return to it multiple times and what's more, make yet another meaningless post as to how "crazy" the conversation is. Thanks for the complete lack of self awareness you have TU, it really is very refreshing.

Hope this helps,
