Read that book Temping Faith and see how Bush, Cheney, and Rove used to have a good laugh behind close doors about you bible pushers. They use religion because they know the weak will fall for it. Just flat out suckers. It really is stunning how something can be created and the masses suck it up hook line and sinker. I hear when u donate to the church the money doesn't actually go to the church but to the top guy then he filters it back down and tells the church how much they can have. I guess those lawsuits are expensive these priest keep getting involved in.

Didn't anything bout leading productive lives Cie--I am referring to attitude they take through life with them.
What does an athiest in later stage of life look forward to--how do they cope with death of child--
I would hope everyone could find some comfort in life in dealing with death or other travesties.

Can't remember where or who I heard it from when I was a kid, but I was told there were 4 reasons we do what's right
1. fear of public scorn or embarrassment (especially embarrassing your family) :nono:
2. fear of going to jail :scared
3. fear of getting your ass kicked:scared :scared
4. fear of going to HELL (or not going to heaven) :shrug:
If you take each one of those individually they all have been diminished over the last few decades. :sadwave:

I have no desire to hurt, kill or mame, even if I were guranteed that my family would not find out, that I wouldn't be arrested, that I would not go to a place full of fire and brimstone for all eternity and that I would not be subject to retaliation.
I am not saying there is no hell, because I do not know, but it is exteemely unlikely at the bare minimum.
