I passed on the house with the pool, too much maintenance and expenses for me to deal with, along with it already being on the edge of what I wanted to spend.
New issue: for some reason, a lot of dogs owners seem to have the problem of their dogs pissing in their house. I found a house today which is pretty much perfect in every way but a couple of things.
Dog peed on the carpet (cleaned, but you can see stain and smell it). Also, the dog appears to have peed on the wall in the master bedroom which also has hardwood floors. I suspect he probably peed on the hardwoods too. If I ripped out all the carpeting and the hardwood and replaced it, and used Kilz primer to seal it, would the smell be totally gone? It's not particularly bad but I don't want to move into a new house with any smell.
Thoughts?
