I am taking a con law class this summer semester and last week we were going over some cases involving affirmative action. Most of the class, including me, are not afraid to discuss the topics at hand. But since we have a handful of minorities in the class, many of us were reluctant to speak... afraid of being called a racist. I could actually feel the tension...

Chadman I totally agree with what you posted, there are various cases where the odds were beaten and people of all walks of life and color succeed in some of the worse conditions.....BUT IN GENERAL if you are BLACK,with a MYTHICAL BIG DICK, and live to be 100 yrs old you dont want to educate yourself and the free handouts that were recieved all throughout your lifetime as you lived ontop of your uncles garage has you accepting your role in society as a freeloader. Now dont even let me get into the voting issue where you are surely to vote democrat and probably registered yourself as "BAT" Johnson on the ID card.:nono:

This reminds me of the zones of transition that Shaw and McKay came up with in the 50's. They studied crime rates in Chicago and found that the most crime is the "zone of transition." People are moving in and out of this zone frequently.
They believed the crime rate was kept elevated through process of " cultural transmission."

It is my theory that things do not change overnight. We are experiencing a small part of a much larger timeline that was dominated for the most part by oppresive discrimination. How can a logical person expect 10 generations of oppresion to suddenly be equalized in 1 generation of equality? How can a person with an unbiased brain expect this?
Some of you seem to relish in these stats that make blacks look bad, without giving a thought of the larger picture.
But I'll just ask again - since you started it way back on page 1 or 2. What is the heart of your point when you say that blacks (in general) are less ambitious and commit more crimes?
