3-2 on last night's games, giants' game should have gone over, cards' game never had a chance. see a couple of early ones worth a go:
cin/mil under 9-: reitsma 3.18 era vs brewers over 17 innings; sheets 3.00 era vs reds over 12 innings. bothe these guys good young pitchers that tend to walk a few more than they should. both should benefit from home plate ump doug eddings, who has one of the largest strike zones in baseball. both bullpens reasonably solid. winds 15-20 mph left to right, conditions 29-40 to the under in miller park over last 5 years. reds 6-13 under on the road this year, brewers 6-13 at home.
fla/col under 12: gonna keep riding this horse until i fall off. hampton has had his share of troubles of late, but is improving and is 6-1 lifetime vs fla with 3.30 era over 60 innings. tavarez the same but 2-1 vs rockies with 3.57 era over 17.2 innings. winds forecast out to right @ 10 mph, conditions 19-27 to the under in coors field over last five years. again, both bullpens in reasonable form. rockies 5-14 @ home this year and under 13 of last 14. home plate ump reynolds, while historically neutral, has gone 0-7 to the under this season and called the 4-3 game between these two pitchers 3 weeks ago.
may have some more tonight depending over how the day goes. today i have the plasure of spending the day in the hospital having a myeleogram and other tests leading up to a neck fusion next week. old sports injuries and old age have finally taken their toll. as explained to me, a myeleogram is where they tap into you spinal fluid, pull some out and replace it with radio-opaque dye. they then tilt you so the dye runs through your spinal fluid and take a picture that reveals the impingements. my take is i'd rather be dipped in sh*t. will report back if able. if not, g/l yoday.
