3-2 on last night's games, giants' game should have gone over, cards' game never had a chance. see a couple of early ones worth a go:

cin/mil under 9-: reitsma 3.18 era vs brewers over 17 innings; sheets 3.00 era vs reds over 12 innings. bothe these guys good young pitchers that tend to walk a few more than they should. both should benefit from home plate ump doug eddings, who has one of the largest strike zones in baseball. both bullpens reasonably solid. winds 15-20 mph left to right, conditions 29-40 to the under in miller park over last 5 years. reds 6-13 under on the road this year, brewers 6-13 at home.

fla/col under 12: gonna keep riding this horse until i fall off. hampton has had his share of troubles of late, but is improving and is 6-1 lifetime vs fla with 3.30 era over 60 innings. tavarez the same but 2-1 vs rockies with 3.57 era over 17.2 innings. winds forecast out to right @ 10 mph, conditions 19-27 to the under in coors field over last five years. again, both bullpens in reasonable form. rockies 5-14 @ home this year and under 13 of last 14. home plate ump reynolds, while historically neutral, has gone 0-7 to the under this season and called the 4-3 game between these two pitchers 3 weeks ago.

may have some more tonight depending over how the day goes. today i have the plasure of spending the day in the hospital having a myeleogram and other tests leading up to a neck fusion next week. old sports injuries and old age have finally taken their toll. as explained to me, a myeleogram is where they tap into you spinal fluid, pull some out and replace it with radio-opaque dye. they then tilt you so the dye runs through your spinal fluid and take a picture that reveals the impingements. my take is i'd rather be dipped in sh*t. will report back if able. if not, g/l yoday.

Good Luck Loop, hope everything turns out ok. I hate hospitals too. The only place worse is a funeral home.

Loophole --

That doesn't sound like a lot of fun, I'm sure you'd rather be golfing or something this afternoon.

But if it's correcting a quality of life issue I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run.

Thanks for posting. Be well.

The best of luck to you Loophole. I have had two fusions on my neck done. If you are having any anxiety over it I can tell you that, in my case anyway, it sounds a lot worse than it is. I wish you a speedy recovery.

loophole-

I have had a total of 3 of those myeleograms done. I have had 3 back, and 2 neck surgeries in the last 6 years. I have to tell you it is a good test to find out exactly where the disk's are herniated or touching a nerve through the spinal column. However there is or can be some side effects. You can get the post myeleogram headaches for one. Everytime I had one done I got those awful headaches. My doctor told me only 10% get the headaches.

My advice is to do EXACTLY what they say when you get home. The first one I thought I could get up walk around, drive and stuff. Wrong idea. I got those headaches terrrible. I mean the worst migrane you have ever had. To the point where I had to lay down for about 30 hours.

That day what I would do is lay on the couch or bed(not flat) and just drink water, juice, or something with caffeine in it until all you are doing is ONLY getting up to go to the bathroom from bed or eat. The liquids and caffeine help the body absorb and get rid of the dye.

I don't know if your doctor told you this or not but they do what is called a blood patch. My workers comp wouldn't let the doctors do this until I had symptoms of the headches. What happens is that when they inject the dye in some people the hole doesn't close up and fluid leaks out and cause the headaches. With the blood patch they take blood out of your arm after the procedure and go through the same hole and shoot blood on the hole so it doesn't leak. It is alot better to do it then because you are already numb and there is a better chance of no headaches.

It is not as bad as all this sounds but there is some discomfort of course but thought I would tell you some things I went through to hopefully make your procedure easier. I think Jack has my email if you want some more info about things I did or went through. I hope all goes well for you.

Loop.................I had 2 of those mylograms done , both for my back.........There are some sides, but I never had any. No headaches, no dizziness & the injection spot wasnt even sore. I felt really fine just as soon as they got me off of that tilt - a - table. Now, where I did have trouble was not with the injection (hurts like hell), but when they went to extract it, they couldnt get the fluid it out. Now, things & procedures may have changed since then, but they couldnt leave it in there, so they had to make more holes etc. They said that it was very isolated occurrence. So, i hade no side effects & if the isolated incident with the retrieving of the dye didnt happen............it was a breeze.
I guess the worst part is having to stay still while they are "tapping " your spine. Be well....THE HITMAN
