Walking out of budget talks in protest of the idea of raising taxes for millionaires and billionaire is unfathomable. The neacons want instead to shift the burden to the aged and middle class.Wonder how many of these self serving fagmen are millionaires themselves?the republican assault on the elderly and middle class continues. Not a statesman in the bunch.

Here come the neo-cons. Obama was a pussy. He should not have caved into the GOP on taxes. They should have been raised awhile ago.

One more comment. I agree with you. I wish Bush would not have started all these stimulus packages. Good catch.

actually,that was a bi-partisan decision...dems were all for it....

now they want another stimulus.....spend,spend,spend...isn`t that what you do when you can`t balance your budget?....spend more?...

they want to raise the (wait for it)..........debt CEILING....

maybe call it the "debt roof"?....:mj07:

and this....this is why nancy said,"we have to pass the bill so we can see what`s in it"....

""It turns out that, due to a glitch in the obama healthcare law, roughly three million middle-income Americans could wind up on Medicaid ? which was designed to assist the country?s poorest citizens.

?It?s gonna cost about $450 billion over 10 years,? Senator John Barrasso. R-Wyo., who is also a surgeon, warns. Barrasso says it?s yet another burden for average Americans. ?Who?s gonna pay for that ? the taxpayers, people who are paying their bills every day,? he says.

Democrats acknowledge there is a problem within the health care law that could have an unintended impact on Medicaid.

?I do think that between now and 2014, sooner rather than later, we should go back and take another look at this,? Congressman Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., said Wednesday. Van Hollen also admitted that the potential snafu was discussed while the health care law was being drafted. It stems from a problem about how the word ?income? is defined under the law now ? and how that definition is set to change.

Richard S. Foster, Chief Actuary for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, says it?s a worry that keeps him up at night. "

you can`t make this stuff up.....

Top 10% earners already pay 70% of taxes.

Debt problem is a result of out of control spending, not lack of revenue.

Yes, they do pay the majority of taxes, in some respects. However, they also MAKE 50% of all the income in the country, and their actual EFFECTIVE tax rate is less than 19%.

The bottom 50% of income earners in the country account for less than 13% of the adjusted gross income in the country.

These numbers are all relative. I note that most conservatives only tell half of the story - as we see here...

Sorry. Try again.

I just can't believe the shit some people will believe. Yeah, lets continue to step on the poor and the middle class. It's sad when the poor and the middle class actually fight against their interests because they are brain dead. Like Sponge said a few days ago. It's all over. Last neo-con left be sure to turn out the lights.

I just saw Sen Sanders from Vt

He stated that the top 400 wealthiest ppl in the United States.

Make as much as 150 million ppl in the middle class.

Shit there are only 230 million Americans eligible to work.

And I would almost guarantee you that these wealthiest ppl are able to get around tax issues.

Think about this .

Any sane person dem or repub

how can we not raise taxs in this case .

this country is fawked
.....................................................................

I posted this in another thread

AND important to note, 0% of the Federal Tax Burden for this group.

Eludes mentioned raising taxes on millionaires and billionaires... I have no problem with that.

The problem is, Obama wants to go after those who make $250K a year - which clearly isn't the "millionaires and billionaires".

If the Dems would propose an increased rate for the group that Eludes mentions ONLY, I would think they would have no problem getting public sentiment behind them and get this done. Once they attack the $250K, which is effectively upper middle class in some areas of our country, their message falls flat.

Mags you crack me up. You say $250k isn't much money, but somebody making one fifth that is rich. To me one fifth of not that much would be poverty.
