The computer my kids use is really slowing down.

I've deleted the temporary internet files.

What's my next step?

I remember someone recommending CC Cleaner...should I give that a shot? When I went to run it I thought it said it would delete files...is that ok?

Thanks for any help.

I'm glad it's working for you, but the general consensus on the product is pretty bad from IT people. It sucks more resources than it saves. The program that people have recommended here is a better option. Norton just scored big (much like windows) by getting auto-installed on everyone's machine. Great marketing.

Here is the common theme on Norton:

My computer was dogging out to the point where I was going to reformat and reinstall everything or get a new one. I uninstalled the AT&T software that came with the new DSL service and everything's ok now. I was thrilled that it was something so simple.

All of the programs that run when you first turn on your computer will no longer start until you start them yourself. (ex: AIM, yahoo messenger)

Is there a place you can pick and chose the programs that start automatically? If i were to stop them all by doing the said procedure what are some standard things that would be disabled?
