Body of Work

Team.........WINS...LOSSES..Vs Top 10/Top 30

Alabama......13-0.......#1.....1-0.....5-0....Quality wins, USC, LSU, A&M
Ohio St........11-1.......#2.....3-1.....3-1....Quality wins, Wisconsin, Michigan, Oklahoma
Michigan......10-2.......#3.....3-1.....3-2....Quality wins, Penn St, Wisconsin - Losses Ohio St, IOWA not in T25
Washington..12-1.......#4....1-1.....4-1.....Quality wins, Colorado, Wash St, Utah- Loss USC, USC won 8 straight
Clemson......12-1.......#5.....0-0.....4-1.....Quality wins, L'ville? - Loss home to Pitt
Penn St.......11-2.......#6.....2-1.....4-2.....Quality wins, Wisky, Ohio St, TEMPLE- Losses Pitt, Michigan, all before week 5

Outside looking in, Clemson with no games vs Top 10? Weigh that committee along with how teams finished the season, not how they began the season.

Food for thought!!

I'll use your argument. OSU is playing better football now, than they did when they lost to PSU.

The fact is this: When Wisconsin was up 28-7, the final four was easy. Alabama, Clemson, Ohio St, Washington.

Penn State claws back, and now they are in the mix? Why? They sure as shit weren't the talk of the town before kickoff.

I actually do hope Penn St makes it. I want to see what a barn burner that game is! LOL!

You're not using my argument. You are ignoring the fact that OSU lost to Penn St head 2 head, and Penn State won the conference title. In what sport in all facets of life does that mean absolutely NOTHING?

Penn St claws back? Penn State DOMINATED that 2nd half. They were only down 14 at halftime. Lets not act like they were down 40 and it took a miracle to come back and win.

OSU is playing better football? No, they've been playing inconsistent football. They needed a fucking 2 point conversion stand to beat.....MICHIGAN STATE :142smilie:142smilie:142smilie:142smilie:142smilie:142smilie:142smilie

Oh, and they barely squeeked by that ever so power house of a team Northwestern lol

Thanks for putting this on your page, Bill and for stopping in my "Hosses" forum. What I've been up to is in the Hoss Forum.... very busy with things at home, racing, and footbawl. There's no way I could keep up with either football forums. Funny thing is racing USED TO BE my bread and butter ($)... NOT LATELY THOUGH, ugh! . This year it turned around and it's football I've had luck with, Bill.

Just to get your point here.... I like your opinions about the college dudes but my two cents would rule out Mich. (just not up to par with the others) and Clemson's erratic ways (they finish up their games like my hoss plicks finish their races after leading for 95% of the dang race.). Wahington?... I watched the entire Arizona game; yeah - they won and I lost betting them BTW. I left that game thinking that there was no way they compete with the playoff candidates. I think they'd get BULLIED by teams like Bama, USC, and maybe others. I like to see defensive and offensive lines with some lard asses on them.

One more thing that I'd like to share withya.... parlays have been working for me and the part that works best is to NOT just play teams in the same category.. like, throw in an NFLer or at least one from a different type sport. I've used tennis :00x8 in the past. I've played, on the courts, plenty of tennis and really enjoy that sport. I watch a lot of tennis and used them as "parlay stuffers/boosters". Don't use any calculators or numbers or matchups, just go by what I SEE from the players. I know/watched them all... men and women. If you play on tennis exclusively - you'll lose your ass, odds are terrible, but using them to boost a parly works great IF you know enough about tennis . I used tennis plays very sparingly this year and college with NFLers worked out pretty dang good SO FAR.

For today's games --?

NFLers I used with college plicks (almost all the college plays already won) are Phil. Eagles, Balt., and 49ers/Bears UNDER.

Good luck to ya, W.B.

Let me preface everything with this

I'm a pac 10 guy
And
I hate Ohio St

That said.......after bama there isn't a team with a better overall resume and 3 more impressive wins than Ohio St.

To leave them out would be a joke.

Win AT Oklahoma
Win AT Wisconsin
Win vs Michigan
Fluke Loss AT Penn State

If this were the ncaa basketball selection comm there wouldn't be any doubt they are in (and I personally don't think there's much chance they're left out)

Oh....and since this is a gambling site, pretty sure Ohio state is a cleare #2 in vegas power rankings.

To me it comes down to 1 loss wash with a pathetic non conf schedule vs a 2 loss Mich team (who probably has the better 12 game resume)

I think wash will get the slight edge as they had an impressive win vs a top 10 team while mich was idle

Penn st......get the f out of here.....prob not even top 8 in Power rankings.

Change the name of PENN STATE to Notre Dame, Alabama, USC, and their FOURTH QUARTER play against Ohio State and Wisconsin this month would be LEGENDARY.....

Heard it hear early.... 3 teams are already in. The final debate they are having right now is over 2 things: Who is the 4th team & do they flip flop Ohio St. & Clemson.

Bama vs. Wash. or Penn St. (early lean was Wash.)
Ohio vs. Clemson (they have not decided who is 2 or who is 3) & I know it doesn't matter!

Have all the arguments you want... The lean as of this morning was to leave out Penn St.
I am not saying I agree. As a Buckeye fan I see all sides of this.

The way I understand it, Conference Championship & Head-to-Head are more of a tiebreaker.

Penn State having 2 losses including a 39 point loss to Michigan ... even though they won the conference championship, they weren't 1 of the 4 best teams this year. Jim Delaney (Big Ten Commissioner) had already said (before the weekend's games) that Alabama & Ohio State were 2 of the 4 best teams this season. Even if Alabama lost to Florida, they were in. And regardless of who won the Big 10 Championship, Ohio State was in. At least according to him.

Appreciate it, Jimbo!! GL with the hosses!!

I once used to love picking them when Fletch was around, he was solid on them. I only like picking the big races beginning w/the Derby of course.

GL and Happy Holidays man!!

Same guy who didn't think a team who didn't win their conference should get int(so the big ten could stop the sec from getting 2 teams in). My my how his tone has changed :0002

That's what he WANTED when they set up the current playoff structure, but the committee agreed to select the 4 BEST teams instead. So he is going with what the committee agreed upon. That's what makes a good committee member. Setting aside your personal preferences and going with what is the "rule" of the selection process.

Personal preference? I'm just lobbying for what makes sense lol

I was right. You were wrong. There is no debate. I will agree with you on one point.

We are done here.

:0008

Where did I ever say OSU wasn't getting in? Guess you missed my "need to learn how to read," comment.

Thanks for reiterating how right I was and wrong you were. You can't read, nor debate :142smilie:142smilie:142smilie

What does my post have to do with your feelings on Ohio State? You're like a fucking child. No matter what I say, you want to hear different. Sorry. Not happening. You blew this way too far out of context.

No, I just want you to be respectful. Name calling but I'm the child? Oooooook

It's like you can't fathom that anyone would think PSU deserves to be in. Do you have personal ties to OSU? You're taking this way to personal.

Nothing more hilarious than someone acting like a child, but calling someone else a child :0002:0002 - I guess whatever helps you sleep better at night and tell all your friends you "won the argument."

So. Cal
With 4 playoff spots and 5 major conf; making a conf champ game winner as a requirement is a joke.

If so, who'd have been fired up to watch these potential 4 winners from yesterday compete in your ncaa "playoff"

Penn St Vs VA Tech

Colorado vs Florida

Yawn....and none would have been one of 4 best.

The argument wasn't that you get in if you win your conference. The argument from Big 10's one and only Delany was that if you don't win, you shouldn't be allowed in. Big difference from the forecast you tried to portray lol Or maybe you just misunderstood?

Either way, I don't think it should be a requirement, just find it funny he's changed his tune now that his conference stands to gain. I don't think you can sit here and say winning the conference championship means nothing, otherwise why do they even play them? Just a few years ago the NCAA told TCU the reason they were leapfrogged is because they didn't play in a conference championship because the BIG 12 didn't have one. Now that a team who has HUGE financial impact in the same situation, the NCAA chose to change their reasoning.

When in doubt or if it's close, it'll go where the $ goes. Had that been Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, FSU, you get the point...instead of Penn State, you bet your ass they would've leapfrogged Washington lol
