I almost always get a head cold.

Snot slingers. :142smilie

My other favorite is the guy coughing with out covering his mouth at the tables......I get up and leave. I also tell them my mom taught me at 4 yrs old to cover my mouth. People do not give a shit, since I am sick? Make everyone else sick, inconsiderate bastards :0008

I hate that.

It's usually someone who does that one big cough, and figures "I don't need to cover for that".

I tell them "you're not shooting out gummy bears".

How to Avoid Arriving to Vegas Sick

There are few things as frustrating as being sick during your vacation. All your planning, time off work, and money are wasted and you?re left with only unpleasant memories of what should have been a great trip. Whether it?s your first visit to Las Vegas or you?re a seasoned guest, you want to avoid touching down at McCarran already ill. Use the guide below as a resource to reduce your chances of spending your entire Vegas vacation in your hotel room.

Load Up with Vitamin C

No matter the length of your flight, you?re going to be sealed inside a metal tube with around 100 other people, breathing recycled air. That?s a great recipe to pick up a virus. Unfortunately, there?s not much you can do to avoid contact with other people on an airliner, short of wearing a hazmat suit. Since the TSA probably won?t like that, better focus your resources on building up your immune system before your trip. Vitamin C is a great way to build immune health. It can easily be purchased as a supplement at any pharmacy or grocery store. Start taking extra vitamin C about a week before your trip to have your immune system in prime shape for your flight. Even if you normally eat a lot of foods high in vitamin C, like citrus fruits, supplements are still a good idea. Vitamin C is water soluble, meaning it?s not stored in the liver or fatty tissue. Therefore, it?s very difficult to take enough to cause toxic effects.

Good Hydration

Las Vegas is in the desert and it?s easy to become dehydrated here, especially if you?re going to be drinking. Get yourself off to a good start by being certain to arrive well-hydrated. Make sure to not only drink plenty of water the day before your flight, but also be mindful of your water intake on the plane. The pressurized atmosphere inside a commercial jet is pretty dry, and it?s not difficult to become somewhat dehydrated on a flight. Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages, which only cause you to lose more water, and ask your flight attendant for bottled water instead. This will help you arrive in Vegas in top condition and ready to enjoy yourself

.Rest Up

Chances are you won?t be getting much sleep once you in arrive in Vegas. Most everything here is open 24 hours and you?ll want to experience as much as possible. Be sure to stock up on sleep in the days preceding your trip so that you?ll arrive well-rested. If you can catch a few winks on your flight, even better. Adequate sleep is vital to a healthy immune system.De-Stress

Hopefully, the main purpose of your vacation is to relax. Keep that in mind before and during your journey. Packing, checking in at the airport, and boarding your flight can all be hectic. Take some time to relax and try meditation or breathing exercises during your flight. When you?re stressed out, your body is much more susceptible to illness. If you have difficulty with flying, it might be a good idea to ask your doctor for a mild sedative before your trip.

Hand Sanitizer

The most common cause of illness when traveling is viral infection. The common cold, viral stomach flu, and numerous other illnesses are all due to viruses. Viruses are generally transmitted from person to person via human contact, or from touching something that another person touched recently. Can you imagine how many people touch the door handle on the plane bathroom door? Hand sanitizer helps to reduce the risk of getting an infection from a virus that another person left on a door handle, countertop, or otherwise. Carry a small bottle of hand sanitizer to reduce the risk of viral infections that could ruin your vacation!

I get it every year because I am forced by my job. If I don?t get it, I have to wear a mask at work November-April (no thanks). I would never get it otherwise. The shot normally protects you for about 1/3rd to 1/4th of the flu strains.

I think people who are chronically ill whose life could be jeopardized if they contract the flu should get it. I think people over 80 should get it, and I think sick children should get it. Homeless people should also get the vaccination.

I was pricing flights last night.........

:popcorn2

I've used Allegiant 4 times on cancelled SWA trips for my return home. It wasn't that bad. Plus your flight, I'm guessing, is 3 hours or less? I wouldn't use SWA but they are the only ones out of Indy that have non stop. That's another requirement of mine. :0003

I sorta prefer Delta but to use them for Vegas I have to stop in Chicago or Atlanta on the way. Bag that shit.

Too many horror stories with Allegiant. Plus, my only trip with them was delayed a couple hours out, and SEVEN hours back. Fuck them.

Florida news is reporting that they have more flu than the rest of the nation. Also, 1 of every 10 deaths in the USA last week was flu related.
