I'm not saying that you're doing anything shady, but why should your legions of fans have to keep track of what your units are worth for each different sport. Who cares how much your unit it? Who cares how long your unit is? I digress, but if someone is using a reasonable unit scale (as in, no 50 or 200 unit plays), then that is all that is needed. Who cares how much you claim to bet, dollar-wise?
I'm here to unite this forum.
You are right that nobody "needs" to know much I wager. But I think it is beneficial and I have nothing to hide. I expect to win every CFB play I post. That is why I bet $500 unit and in NFL I am average at best and that is why i bet $20 unit. But if I didn't post wager amounts, how will someone who values my plays differentiate? I might be hurting someone financially because I am too afraid to post my actual wager size AND explain myself. Why would I want that on anybody? I am not afraid to lose 5k, 10k, or 20k and posters knowing it. I''ll still be here. I am sure many posters here wish I did lose that much.
Another example. I see posters on the site average 10 unit plays. My question is why not scale it down if all your plays average 10 units? So if that person is up 100 units, people think WOW he is awesome! But reality is if he averages 10 units a play, he is up 5 units if he scaled it down. NOT SO IMPRESSIVE as bragging that you are up 100 units! Understand where I am getting at?
For me, I wager $500 unit so I might only be up 10 units but that is 5k. But if I used $100 unit rule, and was up 50 units people might think WOW he is awesome! But I am up the same $$$. So how can someone differentiate if I don't tell them how much I wager and if that is a lot of $$$ to me. $500 a lot of $$$ for me so I expect every game to win and I am bummed out if I lose. If I was betting $50 unit and I lose, I might not be so bummed out if I lose 1 unit.
Like I said, I don't give a $hit about bragging I am up 50+ units etc. I want quality units and I break it down to $500 unit so then my plays range on average between 1-5 units.
Most people look to see how many units someone is up. If someone quotes they are up 30 units etc people automatically think they are a great capper. Might not be true. If someone is up only 3 units but they bet $500 unit (and $500 is a lot of $$$ for them), that tells you something about them.
Quality units vs Quantity units
