Absolutely horrible. WTF were they doing the day's recap for? And a Ricky Fowler biography?

Did Holly not show up today?
Sorry to her the bad reviews, did not see any of it on TV today, Golf mags were really pumping up this premiere coverage. Bummer!

CBS = A The gold standard of golf broadcasting

NBC = C+ I like Koch quite well but I can't get past Johnny

ESPN = D Even a professional as good as Mike Tirico can't save them

Fox = Off the charts. WTF were they thinking?

Where it is real F ing COLD
George Michael Sports Machine = A. The gold standard for golf coverage, he announced who won without highlights to end the show.

All other Golf Coverage = F What's worse than playing golf sober? Watching it drunk or worse yet sober.

On the course!
I like to think it's just freshman yips, but the real question is, why didn't these guys have some practice rounds? How the hell do you do the US Open right out of the box?

There was no flow in this broadcast AT ALL, and the production was as bad as it could ever be.

They did a "practice run" at the USGA 4 Ball tournament at Olympic Club earlier in May. It could be described as "poor" at best, and unfortunately have not seemed able to improve off it...

Tom Weiskopf is the best commentator they have, and they have him stuck in the "studio". Make him your lead analyst go from there.....

I am still giving them the benefit of the doubt, but have been disappointed so far.

anybody catch the Fowler post-round interview with Charles Davis??:scared

Yes. That was beyond horrible. First off, you have 1,000 cameras out on the course and you can't put more than one at the interview tent? Fowlers cap was blocking his face the whole "interview" and the cameraman did not move to correct the shot. Then Davis basically asks the same questions three times, "How do you recover from such a shitty round, Rickie?" If I was Fowler I would have walked off or retorted, "You already asked me that question."

Then there's the Tiger trainwreck that Fox seemed to relish. On and on about his recent struggles. Showing shot after shot of misery. OK, we get it. Meanwhile you have an amateur -- Brian Campbell -- in third place in the Open and don't show hardly any of his shots. (Until his blow up hole, when they were all over it).

If it doesn't get better I'm going to turn the volume down and crank up the Allman Brothers all weekend. Golf can be enjoyed without the commentary. Yet I agree it is not as cool as George Michaels Sports Machine.

This shit reminds me of watching a local high school football game on PBS as apposed to the NFL quality that CBS and even ABC bring to the Majors. Just fuking awful!!!!!

Is FOX trying too hard?
Is the course just too un photo genic?
Are the announcers just dunces?
Should Holly start doing interviews in her bikini?

Funny I was just thinking that. That was very bad. Poor camera work as well as poor announcers. Flipped over to a rerun of Seinfeld.

Eddie

Ironically it was the one where Kramer hit the ball into the blow hole of a whale.
