Just thought I'd give a heads up on episode I'm having. Especially with foots around the corner and members making deposits in books.

Sportsbetting.ag was bought by Betonline I believe as the have identical format and lines.
Thought no use in having both so thought I'd transfer funds from one to other..was told that cost $100 so thought I'd just close Sportsbetting account instead.

Seems they sent me email for" $50 free play" in 2012 but I needed to make $50 "deposit" for "free" play or else (in the fine print..below) I can never make withdrawal. Bottom line is they won't let me close my account and send me balance unless I send them $50 1st and thet won't deduct it from my account.

If I can't get it resolved without sending them $50 I'll just close account at Betonline instead which has about twice as much in it. I assume they are one and the same. Maybe IE can confirm.

one for Ripleys Believe it or not....

Nate: Hello
Nate: Account number and password please
(deleted)
Nate: Hello?
wayne hoehn: Hello I am having problem closing my account and need instructions how to do so.I have $738 balance and they say I owe the $50 deposit for a $50 "free play" which is fine ...they can deduct that from my payment. I just want to close account.

Nate: Wayne
Nate: We can not deduct that from your account
Nate: In order to comply with the requirement
Nate: You have to make that deposit
Nate: I suggest you do so using one of the cash deposit methods
wayne hoehn: So you say I must send you more to get what you own me now?
Nate: That way You won't have to wait the 7 business days
Nate: That are required to wait when making card deposits
wayne hoehn: I don't care if I have to wait a month..I'm not sending more to book that won't pay what they owe now. Would You?
Nate: It was clearly stated on the email you received that the bonus you used was a match bonus
Nate: $50 in your account, and you ha to deposit $50 later on
Nate: You used the bonus
Nate: And never made the deposit
Nate: You broke the agreement
wayne hoehn: So deduct $50 from amount you owe me?
Nate: Before you can cash out
Nate: You have to make a $50 deposit and roll that over one time
wayne hoehn: Ok Thank you Nate I appreciate your help. I see I'll have to take this elsewhere to get it reconciled.
Nate: Please use the following link : http://www.sportsbetting.ag/rules#bonus-rules
Nate: It is clearly stated in the rules
Nate: Anything else i can help you with?
wayne hoehn: Again thank you Nate. Goodbye
Nate: ?Upon acceptance of a bonus, player is deemed to have read and agreed to all terms, rules and requirements listed on this page.
Nate: ?Player agrees not to request a withdrawal prior to meeting all stipulations, including rollover requirements

A pretty ingenious con I must say...

Not sure I understand.

You got an offer for a free play of $50, never made a deposit to get the $50, ran the free $50 to $738 and now want your $738.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The deal was $50 free for a $50 deposit and a _x rollover.

I don't understand why you have a problem with this.

Along the same thought process, why should he send $50 that they are just going to send back to him? If it's because of the 1x rollover the BEST CASE SCENARIO for the book is that he loses the $50. He has agreed to let them keep the $50 out of his account.

Why the circle jerk of sending $50 back and forth? What's the point other than he sends them $50 and never sees a dime back his way is what this looks like.

And if eeeeeeveerybody played by the rules Wayne wants, the book would never be in a winning situation ever. They would only be giving away free money. Come on.

People lose the free money with no deposit, no biggie.

People win off the free money, make no deposit, then collect all winnings.

Come on.

And Wayne calls the book a scam? Gimme a break.

100% correct.

However, fast forward to where we stand today and I have to wonder what point the book is trying to make. When the best they can do is break even then why pay processing fees on top of everything?

I doubt they are their own payment processor so they are paying someone 3%+ to handle the money, in this case twice.

I guess that is just a red flag, isn't it?

I'd like to buy your truck Jack, send me $5000 and I will show up next week and pay you $5000 over what you are asking. Seem legit?

So it's only $50 or $738 or whatever.

Suppose it was a free $5000 and Wayne ran it up to $73,800.

It's all relative.

Deposit $50 get $50 free play. Wayne didn't hold up to his part of the deal. Why is the book a con?

Gimme a break.

Just a guess here but I'm thinking the book would like the long shot chance that Wayne loses all the money back. They do deserve that chance.

I know it's hard to believe but the books hope people lose money.

Do you charge extra for the sarcasm these days or am I grandfathered in since I've been here a while?

I know they build the business on losers. This is also an industry where things are not always on the up an up and this just looks like a red flag. If the book is hoping he sends $50 and loses another $700+, well, I guess you got me. I just don't see that as reality.

I do understand your point about people taking a free shot with the free play and that does make sense.

It's the rule. It's the deal Wayne agreed to upfront.

What do you think these sportsbook clerks have to do when a withdrawal is requested? They have to go by the rules.

If somebody objects enough to the "rules" you might convince them to ask a supervisor. What do you think the supervisor is going to say?

The book does not give a flying fuck about that 50 dollars or the $738 for that matter. They have thousands of transactions weekly and they go by the rules that are set in place.

IE saw Wayne's post and asked me if there was anything I could do about it. I said NO. I'm not going to ask the book to bend their rule. Even if it was my account and my money I wouldn't bother them with it.

That's one reason why I have never taken a bonus from any sportsbook ever. That way I never have to worry about jumping through any hoops.

This one is cut and dry though, IMO.

I can't believe Wayne is calling them out as scammers. Christ!

And I doubt that BOL owned the book when the deal was made.

Ultimately Jack, I agree and see your point. I never said they were scamming him. On the surface it just seemed like a needless transaction to just send money back an forth.

I stand corrected.

I open account with $550 in 2010 when the were sponsor here ...a month later I withdrew original deposit and have been playing on balance. They quit lining LPGA and I rairly made any more wagers except when they have props on majors.

In Sept they sent email about $50 "free play" which I wagered (didn't read the fine print that it really wasn't free but a con to keep you from ever withdrawing unless you deposted $50 more.

Now they won't close account unless I send them $50 which results is same as if they just deducting it.

So you tell me scam or not?

Cut and dried...like deducting $50 from account isn't same as sending it to them..except this way they can freeze withdrawals--

didn't read the fine print

Whose fault is that?

No, it's not a scam if it was in writing and nothing to do with BOL who didn't even own them at the time. Even if they did, you agreed to a $50 deposit for a $50 free play.

Why not just send the $50 and get your money?

Yeah, I agree with you and PF, why not deduct it, send you the money, and be done with it but the book has a valid point.

It's probably not just $50, I would assume there's some rollover that dogs has to make in order to make the withdrawal as well. Or maybe the rollover has already been done. If it's the same offer I got in 2012, the email had the following terms and conditions for the $50 free play

*Terms and conditions: 1. This promotion is by invitation only and is non-transferable. 2. There is a 6x (six times) rollover requirement associated with this promotion. 3. The $50.00 free play must be used by Monday, September 3rd, 2012 at 11:59 pm (ET). 4. A deposit of at least $50.00 must be made in order to make a withdraw. 6. [We] reserve the right to modify or discontinue this promotion at their discretion. 7. Standard terms and conditions apply to all bonuses, please see website Rules for details.

I think the takeaway from this is that money isn't free

I don't think rollover with the free money counts but I could be wrong. It probably would have counted had it been deposited before all the winning bets but....

Why are you mad at me and why are you mad at BOL? Did BOL own the book at the time?

You said you took a $50 free play without a deposit, ran it to $700 and change and tried to pull out. THAT'S WHAT YOU SAID.

Now you provide more information than you provided before.

im surprised they let you run it up to what you did. dont they usually have a cap on free plays with no deposit required? like 200 bucks or something?

anyway, I dont see the big deal in just sending the book 50 bucks and then requesting your withdraw. hell, you could probably even do it in the same day.
