I'm not a big hockey fan but those #s dont really mean anything at all.
Think about how many people are watching the game at one place, like a bar.
Can't imagine theres many bars that have big crowds for the spelling bee.
That alone should easily wipe out the difference of 900k, and then theres the fact the game was on Versus.
I havent watched hockey at all till the playoffs, and could care less about it really, but those #s dont mean a thing IMO.

some of you guys spend more time bitching about it than it's worth. i have season tix to the sabre games and Al is right, it is obviously more exciting seeing it in person than watching on tv but I'm a hockey fan so i do either. bottom line is if you don't like it don't watch. you'll probably be glued to the set watching SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE anyway...
There are many things that I like about baseball.. The stats, the web jems, a majestic HR, fresh grass. I would say that I like baseball as a sport better but give me back my Minnesota Northstars and I would watch them over any Twins game.

Most of us think soccer is dull as shit. I know that I do. That doesn't really give me "rank" on the guy who lives for it.

Played both Hockey and Baseball..
Loved Playing Baseball until they stopped giving us SNOCONES after the game..
Hockey is more Dynamic in every Facet compared to Boreball !
Do not give me that Round Bat Round Ball Bailout answer...
My Daughter was hitting the round ball with a round bat at the age of TWO!
Any sport can be boring during the regular season..

Wrong in my case. I quit watching baseball and basketball about 8 years ago, and hockey about 20 years ago.
I lost interest :shrug:
I bet baseball occasionally, but I don't watch it.
If I wasn't a Ravens fan, I doubt I would watch the NFL.

Nobody's really addressing the original question. Of course, Hockey is more exciting than Baseball. . . . but is it more exciting than a spelling bee?

I'll give you more to laugh at.
I watch the 4 major golf tournaments and the 3 major horse races if I'm home and think about it.
I do catch most of the NCAA hoops tourney.
I watch very little television.
