I got a phone call tonight from these 2 guys I know threw my girlfriends kitchen design business. I guess you could say we are friends in a way  Here they have been on a waiting list to adopt a baby for 2 years now " THEY ARE GAY' and I guess you could say proud because when they got married out of state I recieved an anouncement. A woman called them on friday to let them know they have a baby      I acted extremely happy but in all honesty what the hell kind of mother would choose 2 gay men to adopt her daughter???????????My husbands exact words were - " THATS DISGUSTING " I have to admit these guys are 2 of the nicest guys I know not to mention really easy to be around because you know they aren't going to try to put the moves on :D if you know what I mean.

What is your take on the cituation???? should 2 gay men be aloud to adopt a little girl or boy for that matter?????

Geeez what kind of life is this kid going to have ?????????????

Just imagine all of the ridicule this kid is going to have to tolerate threw its life !!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't say its disgusting but definately NOT RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are a gay man surfing at MadJacks I don't mean to offend but this is just NOT RIGHT....................

Wow - this has to be a private arrangement. I can't imaging a state arrangin this. I have friends that are gay and along with that give up alot of things, a certain amount social acceptance and many other things - bringing a child into this takes away their chance of making those types of personal choices or the ridicule and difficulty these lifestyle choices endure. These guys would probably be better parents than some tradional families I know, but I still think the situation would be unfare to the child and selfish on their parts.

given the gay couple's choice of lifestyle.....what other choice of having kids do they have????

yes, from our point of view it seems that the child would be ridiculed due to intolerance of other alternative lifestyles...but let's not sell them short before they've even had a chance to bring this child up......

we'll never know i guess as i don't think anyone'll be doin a biography on this child's life anytime soon.....

although it WOULD make for a GREAT reality series.....:SIB kurby

Man and woman throughout the ages have needed each other to reproduce.

Man's drive to have sex is based on his primal urge to populate and reproduce.

Now you have two queers who disregard nature, and either are "genetic freaks" or just simply choose not to want to have sex with women trying to bypass nature and raise a child.

uh uh. You cant have it both ways people. Either stick it in a chick and put one in the oven, or you dont get kids.

It's a privilege, not a right.

no no no myfriend... haven't you been paying attention to the media lately? Its NOT a "choice" of lifestyle. These people are genetically programmed this way from birth. Yup, absolutely! The quack hippy doctors all say so. They have genes in them that make them queer. No choice of their own.

So we obviously need to breed this poor gene right out of the race... it sure aint gonna happen letting these people adopt kids and raising them!

thats whats ridiculous....if something was genetic and it couldn't be passed from generation to generation...prevalence would decrease rather quickly....

world needs good parents........could care less if they are straight or gay...who cares........much rather have a kid grow up in a loving home then in some of the "straight" homes I've seen.....just because your straight doesn't mean your a good parent.........and just because your gay doesn't mean you'll be a bad one..........people out there need to get a life......who cares....gay, straight, young, old, black, white,..............who cares

just as long as you are a good parent.........

and anybody who thinks it's a "choice" to be gay is a moron......I'm straight.......I didn't just wake up one day and say......."hmmmmmmm let's see? I think I'm going to choose vagina" And furthermore.........why would anybody choose to be gay...... If ya actually had a choice.....who would choose that  I mean come on

and marine........your quote:

"trying to bypass nature and raise a child. uh uh. You cant have it both ways people"

then I guess all those women out there on fertility drugs have it both ways then huh.......talk about going against nature :)

I love those women who have quintuplets because they are pumped full of drugs, and then in the same breath say that gays should not have kids.....talk about hypocrites. I'm not speaking for you, for all I know you may be against that as well. But if not then your a hypocrite...........bottom line if you say it's "against nature" then you have to say that to all those women out there on fertility drugs. Why?....because there are millions of women who are unable to have kids the natural way :p

real informed and intellignet statement....

i guess you would also say that anyone who murders and gets tossed in jail -- that is genetic as well huh? who would choose that way of life?

if it IS genetic, then why has the gay rate held steady or increased in the last 20 years? wouldn't the "gay gene" be bread out of the genome????

when all else fails, use common sense kickserv....

and also -- if being gay is genetic, then it is a disorder and a disease....and should be treated.....

you can't have it both ways

talk about informed:

"i guess you would also say that anyone who murders and gets tossed in jail -- that is genetic as well huh?"

wow  won't even dignify that absurd comment with a response

and then there is:

"if being gay is genetic, then it is a disorder and a disease....and should be treated....."

what  ........then with that line of logic....the same can be said about being straight......guess that's a disease and disorder as well....sheesh

so Dr...........when did you "choose" to be straight

good gay parents is an oxymoron. While I don't understand how or why a man would choose a man to have carnal relations with, I still think it's a choice. 2 gay parents sets a kid up for failure.

Two gays want to raise a child. To be safe it better be female. I would say no no no to any males. Poor kids getting it in the ass by age 10. Not agood idea.

because gay is abnormal....you cannot reproduce being gay....

THAT is abnormal and needs to be treated...heterosexual relations tend to produce offspring at a slightly higher frequency than do homosexual relations

and why won't you dignify my remark with a reponse? you are used absurd logic that has nothing to do with your point.....its like saying, an apple is red because its round

is committing suicide genetic? why would anyone choose to do that?

have you looked at any statistics regarding the number of gay men that were abused physically, sexually, or emotionally or were fatherless as a child?

Thanks Girl - I don't think I will be able to pull of this year - if I did it would be last minute and although I could get my hands on a rapid rewards ticket for airfare, I probably couldn't find a room by that time - but I will try next year for sure.

I would Love to meet everybody - especially you girls I suspect any party with you guys involved would have to be a blast!!

WOW! Good debate topic Tara, you know I love a good debate.

I don't know if it is right or wrong but I think that if two people, regardless if they are gay or straight, want to have and raise a child and have been seen to be fit to raise a child I say OKAY. I know it isn't the most ideal situation but that doesn't mean it is a BAD situation. My sons' father and myself are not together. We haven't been together since I was two months pregnant but we get along great. We have a great relationship my son is one of the happiest little boys that I know. We disagree but we always work it out. It isn't the most ideal situation that we have but it is our situation and we work it out.

So just because it isn't the "typical or most ideal" husband and wife or being married or divorced doesn't mean the child is going to grow up f****d up or damaged. I agree the child is probably going to have it a little harder then some of his/her friends but if they are good parents he/she will come out the other side a better person.

I wish them good luck and I will pray for all three of them.
