really..

It wasn't loaded.

The guy was out there just to fuck with cops and video them when they abused his rights.

Cop was too smart to fall for the trap.

I don't have a beef with folks carying..
loaded or unloaded I want the damn permit that says you have followed the correct procedures to be able to bear arm..

Pretty simple..want to cary a weapon that kills people in a nano second..then carry the mother-fucking papers that say you can..

It's not intrusive and furthermore makes good common sense.

It all depends on the state and the CCW Permit that the gun owner has.

You will still need a permit to open carry unless in AZ. and other States. I don't know the CCW laws of every state. However.... I am familiar with those of Nevada and Idaho :0074

There are many places where you can open carry, and don't need a permit. Thats the sad thing, to open carry such as this guy was doing, you don't need a permit and you don't have to take any classes. In MIssouri, you have to take an 8 hour class and get an FBI background check, and that is to able to carry concealed.

This police officer did a masterful job of handling that situation, and knew what the laws were. I have seen several videos where that is not the case. The fact that this guy was carrying an unloaded firearm and just trying to bait the police officer shows his intelligence level.

On the course!
I hope he records his death some day, at the hands of someone who 'thought he was a threat', while he made his statement.

I mean, what does carrying papers really prevent? I see what you guys are saying, but you guys act like someone carrying a gun around with cruel intentions is gonna act differently whether he has his papers on him or not.

Personally, if they don't have their papers on them, get their plates and tell them they have a certain amount of time to report to the station to show their proof. If they don't show proof within that time, issue them a citation.

it at least means that there was probably a background check and that it was decided that this guy was stable enough to carry a weapon...

it rules out that this guy didn`t just burglarize a home and steal the gun....

the i.d. thing is the part that bothers me....what if there was a warrant out on the guy...maybe the wife had a restraining order against him for abuse....

i think this civil libertarian crap has gone too far...imo,if a police officer asks you to identify yourself, you should HAVE TO identify yourself or be forced to take a trip to the station.....

in a civilized society,having i.d. on you isn`t a burden unless you`re a criminal or an asshole....

it`s important for everyone`s safety...our wives, kids, mothers and fathers are out on the streets doing the right thing going about their business.... i want the cops to be able to remove or at least check idiots like the guy in the above video...

As Weasy said, it is at least proof you have been deemed stable enough to own/carry it. If you want to carry a gun around, I don't think this is too much to ask. If you are doing construction work, you have to post the permits in plain sight. It is how shit works. Want to drive? Better take your driver's license with you. Want to carry? Better take your permit with you.

The thing I hate is that these tough guys can flaunt their weaponry and make everyone else uncomfortable. As I have said many times before, if I see someone (other than a cop) carrying a weapon, I get the fuck out of Dodge. That person is a threat, and I'm not going to have anything to do with them.
