You see this barber chair ......it's at Bill's Barber Shop in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The chair was bought by Bill in 1937, it has the original leather upholstery and a fantastic art deco look. Bill is 125 years old and took one hour and 15 minutes to give me the most fantastic , comprehensive haircut in my life. Hot towel , a shave with a straight razor.....and Brylcreem.......they stopped selling Brylcreem in 1964. ( a little dab will do ya ) The total deal cost 10 BUCKS !!! Most guy's get a haircut around once every two months, so by that chronological standard I have received / endured around 360 plus haircuts in my life. Most of my early life hair cuts were spent in dual haircuts with my dad. Everybody who cut hair for guys was named either Sal or Tony .Sal and / or Tony had more hair on their arms than you had on your whole head. Haircuts had names back then,......the "Ivy League" ...."The Collegiate" or "The Varsity". You simply pointed to a picture on the wall and told the barber ...." make me look like that guy " It never worked out, but you got a lollypop , so fuck it. As haircut history progressed we found ourselves in corporate/chain store settings like Hair Cuttery/ Super Clips, Sport Clips and Big Tit Clips ( I made that one up ) to get really lousy 5 minute haircuts from someone named Tami ( one m, no y but an i ) and Sheri ( one r , no y but an i ) Again ...it never worked out , but you left there with the satisfaction that the Tami's and Sheri's of the haircut world "really really liked you, and can't wait to see you again". Today's haircut was so refreshing and old school. I loved it ........I'm so damn good looking right now it wouldn't be safe for me to go outside. I'm gonna watch my Ravens lose to Peyton Manning ( who gets nice haircuts all the time ) but i'll be looking good doing it
