I think the quality of a steakhouse comes down to 3 things, listed in order of importance.
1. The quality of the meat
2. Don't fuck it up with butter, etc, salt, pepper and let the meat shine
3. Cooked properly
I'm not the type to ever send food back, I'd rather eat a shitty meal than have some dude put his jizz on my eggs benedict. But, the only place I will send a meal back is if I'm dropping 40-50 bucks on a steak. At a steakhouse, there is no excuse for not getting it right.
The only place I've had it happen was at 2 different Jeff Ruby's in Cincinnati. 3 filets ordered medium rare that came out well done :facepalm:
