BTW Mully i figured u were about 235 240 in that video. Ur numbers are not killer numbers but u can get them down with a little discipline

If youre talking about the 3pt shooting vildeo, I weighted the same then as I do today. 260. I used to run and work out all the time back in the day. None of my friends that I see daily believe I weigh 260.

Dude, you carry your weight well. Some of us do, some of us don't. I have been down to about 190 and looked like shit in my and my slut at the time's opinion. Get down to 220 or so and you will see far better numbers. You aren't 100 lbs overweight, so don't worry about that BMI bullshit. I saw the shooting video and know that you are or were active athletically, so you know what you need to do. Nothing after six, sauces and gravies suck. Lay off any beer and eat less. It's not anything you can't do if you simply decide to do it.

Cheers bro and good luck to you.

Could u imagine if Mully in that 3 pt tape drop another 100 lbs :mj07: He wouldn't be able to have launched ten of those shots. Might not even been able to pick up the basketball. I think the insurance companies created those BMI statistics. Good gauge on how much a person pays. Good gauge for them that is.

Sigh... I agree with The Sponge here. to hell with pills. If anything, he should have put you on a little diuretic like HCTZ for that bp.

Mully, u have to make a choice. Part of that choice is getting a physical which most men our age including me are too stubborn to do. Exercise, cut your portions when you eat, lay off the sauce, lose weight, and your numbers will all improve.

I see the results of poor choices every time I work. I saw a 68 year old lady die this week because she smoked 2 packs a day for 50 years. It wasn't pretty. I hate it. Another man has a body that is so swollen, you can put a handprint in his skin just like a memory foam mattress. He's in that shape because he made poor choices.

You can do it! We're the same age, so I'm sure I can relate to a lot of ur circumstances.

A great way to burn calories... Buy a stationary bike, put it in front of the tv, and ride it while you watch a tv or a movie. You can burn a ton of calories. I also play Xbox with my son while riding mine. People quit going to the gym because it is time consuming and a pita. Riding a bike just requires u to take a different seat; sit ur ass on that bike instead of the couch. GL man!

Im starting to watch "24". I bring my iPad to the gym and watch an episode while on elliptical or stairmaster ...

BOOOMMM...45 min goes quick.. 8.5 seasons to go:00hour

to the geniuses comparing their own height and weight to those of high performing athletes - LOL.

Same people also say - College? you don't need no stinking college! Look at Bill Gates!

I don't know that anyone was comparing themselves to anybody, at least I certainly wasn't. I think they were used more as an example of different frames different weights.

Hope that helps,

Someone mentioned weight watchers for men. That's a great way to lose weight the right way. Slowly and over time. One of my best friends is 6'5 and was up to almost 300. He lost 65 lbs over a little more than a year with zero working out. That just goes to show you how much diet is the key. If you want a proven method that works, isn't a quick fix that will backfire...check out the weight watchers.

I'm referring to those that say - I don't need college, look at bill gates, he turned into a jillionaire and he dropped out of college.

There's a difference between those with a plan, whether it includes college or not, and those that will mindlessly wander without a plan clinging to the the notion that one man got rich without college so they too can just skip college and get rich.

Just like the logic - "well i am 5'8 and Barry Sanders is 5'8, and he's 230 lbs. So i'm plenty healthy"

5'11" and 200 is not good. Sorry. Just because everyone has gotten fat in this country doesn't mean it's healthy. I would say around 170-175 but 200 is not healthy and should not be a long term goal.

This is me today at 262 lbs. How much does it look like I need to lose?

Okay brother, I hate to do this but my nature leaves me no options when a lollipop is thrown over the middle of the plate.

Just the fat between the hat and the red line!!!

Sorry....sorry.

Dude,
You have a very similar frame to me. I know how it is as you don't or won't like the way you look if you got down to even 190.

Here is the issue. You're bp and cholesterol are not always predicated by your size, it is only a contributor, albeit a large one, but a contributing factor all the same. I would look into Weight Watchers for men like I said and you will easily lose 40 pounds right off the top. It will take much less time if you exercise three to four times a week. If you have a membership somewhere, I have found that cardio work is the most bothersome and monotonous, so I break it up as such. Seven minutes on each machine, elliptical, then straight to the bike, then stair stepper, treadmill, and a warm down on whichever one I want.

Now a friend of mine lost fifty pounds in a similar fashion by walking his dog with the kids to the store of blockbuster or where ever every day. I have found that it's much more difficult to motivate myself to go to the gym rather than strap up the mutts and go to poo park.

Hope that helps,
FDC

Adding; you will see the loss last in your face and cheeks and such and that is how I judge my comfort zone. I look gaunt when I get too thin.

I'm not sure about the weight, but those shorts??? Really? Did you lose a bet?

Ok enough joking around.

How often do you go to the gym and how far do you think you could run if need be? Your cardiovascular health dictates a lot of how you feel/how tired you get.
